As a young man I had several Black families whose children I played with and would eat over at their places and vice versa. And then came the Race-riots in the 60’s. I was no longer welcome in their homes because I was white.
As the years went by I saw more and more this ‘us vs. them’ crap. Then with my own children going to school in the 80’s I found out about the “Ain’t cool to act white’ crap that the black kids used as excuses to not learn how to read or write. By the the time the 90’s came about it was etched in stone. Black was cool, white was not and if a white kid wanted to be ‘cool’ he had to act ‘black’ and so on and so forth.
Now we can see where this has all led us. A country that was well on it’s way to being color-blind is more racially aware than ever before. And the race-mongers are fanning the flames as hard as they can. And they do it for many reasons too. Currently though I think the big one is that certain people in government and out of it want an excuse, ‘ANY excuse’ will do, to bring about civil war and martial law.
I don’t know where this is leading us, whether reason will win out or the Nation as a whole giving up another piece of our civil liberties for the benefit of a momentary peace. But whatever happens, I don’t think it will be enough to appease these people who want ‘more’.
Of course as a white woman if I see someone who looks to be dressed in a way that is thuggish I am going to cross the street. I don't care what color they are.
Middle class blacks need to get their kids as far away from that urban community as they can. It's not the color it's the attitude. They seem to forget that while they are upset thinking I am judging them, they have already judged me. I can't accept them on first glance if they have already judged me to be a racist.
The word Community they should look it up in the dictionary. They only come together when a white does something to them. Any other time they are fighting, stealing, cheating and killing each other. I had to live in that urban environment when I was trying to finish up college. What a nightmare. For the few older people who also were stuck there, I felt bad for them. They were people who had worked and had bought their homes, retired with no where to go. Could not even sit on their porch most of the time. Yes they were black. All the little gang bangers on every corner selling drugs and acting foolish.
When are these folks going to get rid of the crutches they use, the excuses they use, and; why not take advantage of the quotas they get in many of this nations top schools so they can be successful.
I’ve got to tell you, I’ve given these same lectures to my white daughter. People judge you by how you look. Period. If a woman looks like a lady, she’ll be treated like a lady. If she looks like a tramp, she’ll be treated like a tramp.
This goes for the workplace, dating, or even going out.
It’s called ‘common sense’.
And yes, the police profile, but it’s not just black people. It’s poor people. When my (very nice) Toyota Corolla broke down, I had to borrow my daughter’s hand-me-down crap car. I was ‘shadowed’ every day and actually pulled over three times in just two weeks. One time, the cop told me that he just wanted to have a ‘chat’ as he’s scanning the inside of the car.
This never happened to me when I was driving my nice car.

Yes, & I bet a lot of us had similar conversations with our parents. Especially growing up in the 60s. You’re judged by the company you keep & by extension, how you project yourself (in present vernacular).
Some of us were rebellious- in our “misspent youth”, but things have gone too far now. A smart a** kid can be deadly.
You see they like to be profiled when it comes to bennies but not when it comes to responsibility.
Change the culture, and the perception of those most identifiable as of that culture will change.

But such change only comes from within.
I do not see such a push coming yet.

And again, liberals are to blame. The sheeperals thought/think they are “helping” by supporting “single moms”, and will act as those you slapped them when you make them face the fact that this is not helping, but greatly HARMING these families.
And, there ARE some who understand the harm, and are doing it on purpose in order to maintain the voting block. If AAs voted 50-50 like the general population, Democrats would lose across the board. So, democrats have a distinct incentive to maintain the dependency of AAs on government.
Okay, bear with me here...I have close, biracial relatives and black relatives. This racial stereotyping is discussed regularly by us. Stereotypes are based on facts, they have solid basis somewhere. With today’s black men, as with Italians in the past, the criminal behavior prevalent IS the reason all are stereotyped. Fair? No- but eminently logical and not surprising.
The Mafia came to symbolize all Italians when they were doing the gang killings, so are todays young black men judged as potential criminals BECAUSE young black men are the face of most crime now. What other racial group reacts with rioting and destruction with little provocation? What other race is filling crime statistics? And since the black culture-publicly- excuses this, even supports this, how can there not be sterotyping?
If black people don’t want to be judged by the criminal behavior of fellow blacks, they have to start distancing themselves from the mindset that produces thug behavior.The MUSIC, the ATTITUDES, the THUG IMAGE. People have a right to assume you are a thug when you choose to look/act like one- that’s sensible. These young men don’t come from Mars, they come from black mothers/families who excuse or benefit from their criminal behavior. Until, and unless, the mindset changes in the black culture,the mindset of prejudice and stereotyping will not only continue, it will be logical.

Blacks are not mistreated because they are black.
They are punished or disciplined (in school) because the misbehave.
This attitude/behavior that seems to run rampant through the Black community of lying about the reasons they get punished for their actions and choices is exactly why the GOP will never gain a foothold in that community.
They refuse to be responsible for their actions and choices and ALWAYS blame someone else.
Return to a situation where it was economically uncomfortable to have bastards.
Problem solves itself.
Finally, fathers sitting down with their sons after work and have a real heart to heart.

So far, their new plan at renewing and maintaining black bondage has worked marvelously for 50 years. The slaves continue to vote for their masters while as a relief valve they blame and bash unfortunate whites they can get their hands on. Having forsaken the genuinely successful things needed to get ahead, their only key to success in to bully and demand more largesse and reparations from Whitey.
Would work to cause an impetus to change.
The hard truth about Ferguson is that criminality and a gangsta mindset in the black community is driving their problems.
The Ferguson police were not the ones who started the escalation in violence on Sunday
That started when outside agitators and gang members came to the city to riot and loot.
Things escalated from there.
Imagine what the “urban” community would be like if the men had to prove marriageable qualities before having access to sex.
Apply this to the nation in general!
