Heavily armed SWAT police trained their guns on the public and fired tear gas in Ferguson, Missouri, last night as racial unrest over the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen rocked the St. Louis suburb for the fourth night running.
An estimated 500 people, who had been protesting 18-year-old Michael Brown's death on Saturday, ignored the night curfew imposed by police and instead faced-off against officers chanting 'Hands Up! Don't Shoot!'
After repeatedly asking them to disperse, the riot police then fired tear gas into the crowd to break it up, causing scenes that resembled a war zone as another night of clashes was sparked between authorities and furious protestors.
The protestors that remained entered into pitched street battles with police and lobbed Molotov cocktails at the camouflage-clad officers who responded with more tears gas and smoke bombs although there were no immediate reports of injuries but at least 18 arrests.
There were no immediate reports of injuries from the violence but later on Thursday....

What is interesting is that with all the accusations hurled at the police for almost a week, no protester has been hurt. That is a miracle and sign of a well trained police department.

I’m one of those freepers who tends to criticize the police. But I must say, their behavior in this incident really seems remarkably good. I’m pleasantly surprised.
Fantastic photography, wow..!
This reminds me of Israel and Hamas.
Only one way to handle vermin.
Thnx 4 posting.
People always told me how peaceful the Midwest was.
There goes the fantasy narrative about the peaceful demonstrators and police over-reaction that the press worked so hard to create.
It looks like the Police Chief knew what he was dealing with much more so than the race pimps and talking heads.
You also have the backbone and integrity to admit when the police do something right.
Kudos to you, FReeperCC_g.
Mentioned earlier today on some other threads, that it was rumored IMMEDIATELY after the shooting on Saturday, that Michael Brown was involved in theft or shoplifting.
It’s all documented on this site, which is (I think?) anti-police. Hope it’s okay to post here-I thought it was very relevant considering how media and the community has been trying to spin the story all week, to say this is the first they’ve heard of Michael Brown being a thief.

Attica! Attica!
Yeah, except for the Democratically controlled areas and cities (i.e., Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City proper, St. Louis, Gary, most cities in Ohio and etc.) it is. Des Moines, the Ozarks, Lincoln, Green Bay, the Quad Cities and rural areas, etc. don’t have near the problems of the above.
Twitter comments are shown from last Saturday, starting shortly after Michael Brown incident started.

Absolutely NO DOUBT (none!) that the community knew of Michael Brown’s conduct that day. QT was looted and burned because locals stated he “shoplifted” at QT and got shot because of it. It lays the story out, and shows how rumor and speculation contributed to the riots this week.
Michael Brown Robs Store and Assaults Clerk Minutes Before Fatal Shooting
A number of people on this forum are anti-police. They come out in large numbers when a problem concerning the police is featured. That does not mean their thinking about the police is the majority position.
I’m more and more impressed with the Daily Mail. They seem to offer more unbiased just the facts reporting than the vast majority of our homegrown journalists.
I hate to say it, but “Rowwwrrr.” An emaciated skanky redhead like that pushes many of my buttons, almost as much as a plump redhead would.
