So...If he has no aspirations, why does he feel the need to have someone take his picture and then publicize it?

West’s support and ‘aye’ vote for the Nazi Germany style NDAA, ie: The indefinite detention of any American Citizen, (If they are deemed a ‘terrorists’ by the Gov.), with ZERO due process is far more sinister than a tattoo, although I agree with what you said regarding tattoos. West was my VP pick for/in 2016 until I learned of his NDAA vote. He has somehow got to walk that aye vote back or forget any Conservative’s help. NO true Conservative could possibly support the NDAA.

One could also make the argument that your own obsession with Col. West's personal choices is a sickness and unhealthy.........LOL!

After this thread dies down, I'm over it. That tattoo, however, is going to stay there long enough for him to regret it. The money industry for the future is going to be tattoo removal. When these pretty colorful tattoos start to bleed and fade with age and look more like a skin disease than a work of art, there will be a big demand to attempt to restore your skin to something more resembling human flesh than a blob of melanomas.

Does the Marine Corp require tattoos? Last I heard the entire military was cracking down on tats.

Well, you did catalog his tats when confronted by people who clearly despise tattoos. What did you expect? (not justifying the responses to your comment, just saying)

Personally, I don't have tattoos -- it was drilled into me by my parents (my dad was a Marine for a bit, then a Navy sailor, and had no tats) that tattoos are in poor taste. I have no particular aversion aside from the fact that its permanent and, lets be perfectly honest, still associated with the low-class, rightly or not.

Certain tattoos (half-chest pieces for example) can look "cool" on certain people who can carry the look, IMHO. I think Colonel West carries his tat as well as anyone could.

Yup. Not cool. Trashy. Hate them all unless they are for medical purpose.

Like a genuine Auschwitz tat? I have a friend, 85 yr old lady with such a designation. She is not lowered in my heart. She is, in fact, raised up as a hero. My daughter's arm is similarly emblazoned with a tat in defiance of statism. Sh, too, has my genuine respect.

Tatoos are a sign of FOLLOWER,

Really? So who set the lead?

One could use your unfounded and inane claim about anything in society including driving Fords, Cadillacs, Lexus' and Hummers........and the list goes on and one and.......

And lets not forget your ugly pajamas and dirty jeans. So who set your style?

I do believe that his being an @$$ is the reason I detailed my husband’s tats.

As I said, I have no problem with a personal preference being expressed. Don’t like tats? That’s fine. But don’t say that 95% of our service members are stupid trash.

Just don’t.

Actually, the future of tattooing is ink that is applied beneath the skin painlessly and dissipates immediately with one scan of a specific light source. It’s so they are no longer permanent and people can easily get rid of them or change them. That’s for pansies though, I’ll stick with the ancient ritual that I enjoy.

They’re reverting to pre-war rules. Here’s an article that gives the details, if anyone’s interested.

http://www.armytimes.com/article/20140331/NEWS07/303310046/It-s-official-Army-s-new-appearance-reg-takes-effect

In theory, nobody has a problem with this, but usually they grandfather in people who came in with the old rules in every way - no problem. The problem with what they’re doing now is saying, “If you have forearm tattoos that are over a certain size or if there are too many of them you cannot become a warrant officer or an officer.”

So there’s a lot of good soldiers who came in with tattoos, or got tattoos, that were just fine and dandy a year ago. They’ve been busting their butts as enlisted for years while working on their degrees. And now they can’t become officers.

Again, soldiers are all about rules and might grumble when policy changes, but will roll with it. This is the first time that they have not grandfathered people in every respect.

And the reason has nothing to do with tattoos. The army is actively driving people out. The goal is to downsize and they’re doing it by making it as uncomfortable as possible to be in. Everyone’s pretty demoralized right now.

And you can forget your topless hula girl if you’re in the navy. The PC police say that that’s sexist and offensive to women. (Also, no more pin-ups allowed in your bunk) If you go home for two week leave, you’d better remain clean-shaven and if you break that rule, lord help you if someone posts a fuzzy photo of you on facebook. Hell, according to the new regs, you have to remain clean-shaven even if you’re hospitalized. There is no more ‘time off’.

But hey! They’re going to allow trannies in and pay for sex changes!

Welcome to Obama’s army. Real men may not apply.
