On the south side of Glasgow, in the heartland of Scotland's Asian community, support for independence from the United Kingdom is strong as Thursday's referendum nears.
Colorful displays of Yes posters outnumber those backing the Better Together campaign. Talk on the street is of opportunity and a chance to create a fairer country more welcoming to immigrants.

Across Scotland, there are some 140,000 people who class themselves as Asian Scots, along with around 30,000 Africans, 7,000 from the Caribbean, 55,000 Poles and over 160,000 other non-British EU Citizens eligible to vote in the landmark referendum. These "New Scots" represent more than 4 percent of the population and with the polls putting both sides of the debate neck-and-neck just days before Thursday's vote, their views could be critical.

If the Scots are stupid enough to follow the British model of an open door policy to non-Anglo , non Christian ‘immigrants’ they too will doom their future generations to a foreigner population dominated and dictated society . Throw off one familiar yolk only to take upon an even more insidious one .
Don’t be stupid , O’ brother Scots ! Show them ALL the door now . Scotland for Scots , not the worlds muslim riff-raff
With plenty of immigration the Scots can do like we do, become spectators, as we watch to see who the last 40 years of immigration will elect to be our leaders, and what redirection of America, they will take us in.
What good would it do to declare independence and then be ruled by non-scots?
My Grandfather left Scotland in 1898, can I vote too?
BBC - There are almost half a million English people in Scotland
No immigrant , however naturalized or granted citizenship , should ever be allowed the right to vote . The right to vote should begin to be inherent the the native born offspring of legal immigrants who attain U.S. citizenship only . No child should inherit U.S. citizenship due to their parents physical , although illegal presence on U.S. soil only . Those children acquire the citizenship of the non-native , non-U.S. citizen parents only. The right to vote should be a sacred right , not a right widely broadcast to come whoever may , as pearls to swine . There needs to be a vested interest , by generations descending from any who come to settle here ; to ensure loyalty and allegiance to the United States of America . Without such a process , we DO NOT need their votes . Stay and vote in their original country instead . Do not come and affect ours .
Well said.
4%?
I wish that were the case here.
We’d have our country back
Being American is being so exploited, that we went from allowing dual citizenship, to where some countries are now allowing their citizens who can gain the vote in America to influence our politics and future, also get to vote back in their home country.

[UKIP’s Farage:] Scots wont get independence from a Yes vote

Wow!
Don’t mess with Scotland.
Many years ago there used to be a saying : Don’t mess with Texas.
Now Texas has gay and La Raza mayors.
And that's all you need to know about Scottish "independence". They want the English out, but they want Asians, Africans and Eastern Europeans in. They want to stop taking orders from London, but they want to start taking orders from Brussels. So how is there not racist motivation in all this?
These "New Scots" represent more than 4 percent of the population and with the polls putting both sides of the debate neck-and-neck just days before Thursday's vote, their views could be critical.
Gee...I wonder how they are going to vote?
They do it to themselves and wonder how it happened. Liberalism is a form of political insanity.
I’d disagree with you there. That would mean that a guy like Leslie Sabo or Peter Lemon could never vote while all the males in the Sununu & Romney family could. What a travesty that would be.
I fear the UK is lost, probably forever.
