Colonies on Mars - so the muslims can have their own ROP planet. Take the Syrian refugees and Ebola with them.

Learn who will take crews to the #ISS...

NASA to send crews ONLY to Syria? Just noting that the "I", or Iraq, is missing.

Good news!
Why? What did we the taxpayer get in return for 30 years and billions of dollars spent on the Space Shuttle program - other than 14 dead astronauts?
And what about the billions spent on dozens of robotic/rover Mars missions? Return was .... zip, zero, nada.
NASA =

0bama will undoubtedly find a way to derail it and keep us on the fast track to third world status.

I disagree. A lot of spin off technology came to the us from NASA. Here is a partial list.

Anyone know if all four of these are official in the running? Any others?

Clockwise from upper-left: SpaceX Dragon, Blue Origin New Shepard, Boeing CST-100 and Sierra Nevada Dream Chaser.

My prediction: NASA selects two companies: Space X and Boeing.

I don't know, but if I was a betting man... I would say it's probably the Boeing CST-100. I've seen lots of photos of it, and it looks similar to our Space Shuttle vs. the cone shaped ships that we used in the 60s.

I meant the Sierra Nevada Dream Chaser. This bad boy.

I disagree for two reasons: 1) You (i.e. the list) assume these items could only have been invented exclusively by NASA. 2) There isn't a single item on that list that has any significance whatsoever.
So I say again - for 30 freakin' years the Shuttle went up, the Shuttle came down, the Shuttle went up, the Shuttle came down ... and WTF did we get in return?
And BTW, the linked page has this caveat - "Below are 27 abstracts of products claimed to be NASA spin-offs."

Great idea, lets developed some more shuttle and ISS programs and continue orbiting this planet thousands more times...over and over...

Around and around we go....

NASA will make a major announcement today at 4 p.m. EDT regarding the return of human spaceflight launches to the United States. Whoever is chosen will have the goal to achieve certification of the system – including a test flight to the International Space Station with a NASA astronaut -- in 2017, returning a critical capability to America and greatly expanding the scientific research potential of the orbiting laboratory.

I am sooo excited about this return to space, both the LEO CCP and the BEO Exploration Systems Development. Despite all of the politically correct BS, NASA is still working towards re-establishing and expanding America's role in future exploration, and the technology is cutting-edge American know-how. Global warming fanatics and muzzies need not apply.

I hope the Boeing CST-100 is chosen as the CCP solution, although if you listen to the SpaceX droolers the Dragon will get the nod.

I think that the Dream Chaser is the coolest contender. But our last winged spacecraft killed 14. And Space X also claims a reusable, no-chute, dry-land return capability with their Dragon.

A lot of airplanes pilots and passengers have died too, think they should be banned? We could just fire travellers out of cannons or something.

I’m just saying that the Space Shuttle disasters will likely have an impact on how the NASA chiefs view their next choice.

Craft that go into space and then return to Earth have killed people, so they should probably ban that returning thing. lol
