Ben Carson, former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon and noted conservative activists, said there is a strong possibility he will run for the presidency in 2016.
In fact, he put the chances as near-likely.
Unless the American people indicate in November that they like Big Government intervention in every part of their lives, I think the likelihood is strong, he said, on The Hugh Hewitt Show on Monday.
Mr. Carson said he will wait a few more months before deciding, but by May, hell know for sure.
I think the chances are reasonably good of that happening, Mr. Carson said, Politico reported.
I want to make sure that its clearly something my fellow Americans want me to do. And Im also waiting to see what the results are in November, because if the people indicate that they truly do want a nation that is for, or and by the people, then I, along with I hope many other people, would be willing to give it everything we possibly have.

Here’s more from his interview:
I really don’t want to see him do this. I would like to see only one conservative candidate, and I would like it to be Ted Cruz. Let the GOPs candidates split the moderate vote for a change.
Wouldn’t Surgeon General be a perfect fit for him?
I like Dr. Carson, but does he have any experience running a large organization?
I don’t see him being an egotistical spoiler like Newt or Huckabee, but I could be wrong.
You’d think so.IMHO, He’s too genteel for prez.
“Unless the American people indicate in November that they like Big Government intervention in every part of their lives,...”
And if they do they would vote for a gun-grabbing tool like you!
I’d need to hear more from him on issues related to the 2nd Amendment. I could be thinking of someone else, but if I remember correctly, he has said some things that make me wonder about him when it comes to “gun control”.
Personally, I’d rather see him at the Department of Education.
Agreed. There is nobody out there more capable of carrying the Reagan mantle than is Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is a steadfast conservative with an unflinching message, unlike the squishy, shape-shifting views of Rand Paul.
Newt may be an egotist, but I didn't see him as a spoiler in the last election. I thought he was the best candidate running.
And Huckabee is just no kind of conservative at all. I'd love to see Huckabee run in the 2016 primary, along with Romney and Bush to split the moderate vote against a single conservative candidate that conservatives will rally around.
I love Ted Cruz, and think he’s brilliant. He’s also tough as nails.
Having said that, I’m not sure whether he would be the BEST candidate. If he runs, it will be interesting to see how he does in the primaries and debates, ect. I would certainly vote for him with enthusiasm if he ends up being nominated, I have no doubt about that.
run him as VP
We all know it will happen.
Y E S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh he was pretty clear at one point. He said people in cities don’t need ‘assault rifles’. Thats a paraphrase but you get the gist.
He seems to have backed off and tried to appear more of a supporter since. Smart man but I dont think he would make a good President.
We have a President NOW ramming a real BS piece of legislation down our throats ... because HE knows so much about health care... RIGHT?
You mean Carson couldn’t do as well or better at LEAST on this?
AND Carson daily s&^ts out better sense on social issues than “O” EVER knew
That alone makes Carson a better man than we HAVE
Jindal has some good ideas, and he’s probably electable.
I really like Cruz but I don’t think he’s electable. There aren’t enough conservatives after the media went bonkers telling people how radical Cruz is.
The “likelihood is strong” that I won’t be voting for anyone who feels obliged to limit my 2nd amendment rights.
