Ten Commandments Attack Suspect Being Evaluated OKLAHOMA CITY — Oct 25, 2014 A man suspected of driving a car into a Ten Commandments monument outside the Oklahoma state Capitol is under mental evaluation, according to the Highway Patrol.

"Investigators will continue to look into the case and coordinate with the Oklahoma County District Attorney on Monday, for any possible criminal charges," according to a news release from OHP Capt. George Brown.

Brown did not immediately return a phone call for additional comment on Saturday.

The suspect was taken to a mental facility in Oklahoma County, Brown said in the release.

The U.S. Secret Service said the suspect was detained Friday after showing up at a federal building in Oklahoma City, rambling, making derogatory statements about President Barack Obama, admitting to damaging the monument and saying Satan told him to do so.

"He claimed he got out of his car, urinated on the monument, and then ran over it and destroyed it," said Secret Service agent David Allison in Oklahoma City. "He said Satan told him to do it, and that he was a Satanist."

In a civilized country he’d be wetting himself while the blindfold and cigarette were given to him and the squad lined up.

In San Francisco, they make these kinds of people congressmen. In Oklahoma City, they put them in mental facilities.

For wrecking a monument?

Folks don’t forget the commandment that forbids IDOLATRY!

It’s easier to address those who make their hate for God obvious than those who keep it quiet.

It is only a physical representation of our faith and God’s word.

However, it should be rebuilt if only to show people that we will not be denied our right to practice our faith.

However, unlike Muslims who will riot, burn cars, and kill, we will simply rebuild what is destroyed.

I suggest we believe him and take what he's saying at face value. Take it as fact.

Too bad the king doesn't have a seer or a prophet on the payroll to confirm or deny. Otoh, straight up, which team does the king sound like he's rooting for/playing for?

Word round the campfire is that sin attracts sin, evil attracts evil and let's be honest, we've been overachieving. We're maybe a rung or two shy of black hole level attraction.

Yeah, I'd say we believe him, then act on that belief.

"He said Satan told him to do it, and that he was a Satanist."

I'll take him at his word. That makes him a danger to Christians. And Oklahoma is brimming with Christians. In the old days, I suspect he'd be escorted to the county line with a recommendation to keep on walking. The good old days ... when times were simpler and far more sane.

True, and that’s what irritates me as folks who treat this stuff as tantamount to the Catholic Host (which theology I don’t buy either, but as the nearest example). Want to know what is on there, google it if nothing more. Though the New Covenant is preached as superior in both Testaments.

Well, if the place is full of Churchians.

Christians might try to intervene on a more seriously spiritual level.

When someone does something that is truly horrific and the first impulse is to hate them it’s good to remember that God still loves them. I sometimes look at a person who has become an evil monster and marvel at the fact that they were once a beautiful baby, held in the loving arms of their mother...it’s a sobering thought. :-/

We can fall so far.....

If he urinated on a Koran, it would be page 1 national news.

This is the attitude I attempt to take where possible. It is possible for someone to so completely dedicate himself to evil that he has actually pledged himself out of reach of the Cross. And God will not violate that person’s choice. It is elsewhere called the “unforgivable sin.” But you really can’t know that without seriously talking with the person. If someone understands what Christ promised and is not mollified at all from spitting in Christ’s face, then that is probably such a person.

The more I know of the history recounted in the bible, the more I think people are actually overdoing it with the Ten Commandments. This was a deal that Moses actually warned the Israelites they could not keep! Read it, it’s in there. Humility would have dictated that they agree. But they were not humble, they were proud. Anyone who is honest will agree to an utter default as soon as they come across #1. We don’t completely love the Lord, in fact we miserably fail and act out our hate and can’t even stop doing it. That is where a living relationship with the Savior comes in.

He may actually be hating Christians more than he hates Christ. Yes such a thing is possible.
