As we wake up today and survey a landscape littered with the corpses of Democrat political careers, it is worth remembering that many people predicted that this day would never come, all because of Ted Cruz. Throughout the last two years, Cruz has been one of the few Republicans who has not been afraid of his own shadow in the Senate, and virtually the only one to publicly stick his neck out in favor of doing anything. And at every step of the way he was scolded by his alleged political betters for damaging the GOP brand.
When Cruz stood at the center of the Obamacare repeal and budget shutdown and shone a light on the willingness of the administration to drive America off a fiscal cliff just to save their own pet legislation (which everyone hates), Republicans both privately and publicly blamed Cruz for costing them an opportunity to take back the Senate. Earlier this year when Cruz fought Boehners demand to give Obama a blank check on a clean debt ceiling increase, he was castigated again for allegedly putting the GOP in a bad position.
And yet none of the doom and gloom that was predicted has come true. The lily-livered defeatists cant even make the claim that the GOPs victory might have been larger abSen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)93%s intervention, because the GOP swept literally every competitive race except NH and made one race competitive that wasnt supposed to be (VA). In the end, it is clear that Ted Cruz didnt cost the GOP a single seat and, if anything, reinforced in the minds of the voters that at least some members of the GOP were willing to actually fight the Obama agenda tooth and nail.
Given exit polling showing the importance of opposing Obama in last nights results, the Republicans who unjustly criticized Ted Cruz for having the gall to actually do something to stop what Obama wanted to accomplish ought to thank him, or at the very least apologize. But given what we know about Ted Cruz, Im sure he already knows not to hold his breath waiting for one, and that he doesnt overly much care if he gets it or not. He has work to do.

Always.
Unfortunately (even though the reverse would have been horrible) quite a few RINO’s won last night-—Cochran/McConnell yes I’m talking about them for starters.
We should never forget all the voices (many Republican) who predicted on Oct 17 2013 that Cruz’s government shut-down would lead to the Democrats re-taking the House and increasing their Senate majority.
The shutdown motivated the base that the GOP would at least do something or at least pretend to oppose Obama.
What Bachmann said was correct.

Sign me up SoCon if you would have me.
The "media" in NH ignored the THREE conservatives running against Brown in the primary.
You would never have known those candidates existed unless you REALLY paid attention.
The republican "establishment" and the "media" in NH are responsible for this debacle.
I wonder if they will ever learn?
Ted Cruz galvanized the American public on Obama care with his 23hr filibuster. When it was proved that Cruz was right about it set up the repub victory last night.
Based on polling data before and after, Pat Roberts (KS) owes his continued career to Cruz’s visit.
Amen.
Be sure. You know what’ll happen ;)
I keep hearing all the libs and panty waist conservatives telling me how strident and arrogant and controversial Ted Cruz is, and how is not presidential material, but every time I see him he is intelligent, articulate, persuasive, and NOT hyper partisan. He was interviewed on Fox last night, and I thought he was spot-on, i.e., he said something like: “This election does not mean that the voters love Republicans, but that they are unhappy with how things are, and want things done.”
Cruz made it possible.
Many voted and still felt in the game hope simply because Cruz and others like him are in the Senate.
And the images of the WWII vets who travelled to DC only to be met with police and barricades when trying to visit the War Memorials is one that stuck in the minds of many a voter who did not forget.
That happened because of the shutdown which allowed the populace to really understand the Obama contempt for this nation and it’s patriots.
Obviously photoshopped. Cruz doesn’t smoke.
