Trey Gowdy's Soon-to-Be Classic One-Liner Against Impeaching Obama: 'Have You Met Joe Biden?'
Fox News ^ | Sat, Nov 15, 2014 | Transcript

O'REILLY: What about what Judge Napolitano raised that this is an impeachable situation because it does go against Congress making the laws. Because the President is making a new law. And the new law says that if you have children who are American citizens even though you yourself are an illegal undocumented person, you can stay in this country. That supersedes the old law. Napolitano claims it's unconstitutional and impeachable. Do you see anybody going down that road in the House?

GOWDY: Have you met Joe Biden, is my response to that. So, no. Nobody's discussing impeachment except pundits and commentators. First of all, impeachment is a punishment, it's not a remedy. Second of all, the only people who want us to talk about impeachment are the President's ally --

well I can’t disagree much.

However, I can speak out to remove the guy. I shudder when I think about the next two years, especially with the spineless, loyal opposition.

It sounds to me like a very lame excuse for why Congress is not doing its job and impeaching Obama.

Don’t care what he wants. The congress has an obligation layer out by the constitution.

Yes, not only are the republicans weak, they don’t have enough votes to remove in the senate. That doesn’t excuse them from their duty, let the votes fall where they must.

Let the public step up if they support removal.

Impeachment means nothing if removal from office is not there.

See: Clinton, Hillary and Bubba, face of the party

>> Impeachment is a two-step process. A vote in the House for impeachment and a vote in the Senate for removal.

Yeah NSS. It is not a punishment. There is no right to office.

Subordinating Duty to partisan strategy; not even attempting to perform the Duty, refusing to engage, abandoning the contest before it’s even begun - IS party first, Duty second.

Let’s look at it this way:

The voters and the media abhor the republicans. Republican leadership abhors conservatives. Conservative voters abhor republican leadership. one or two republican politicians have the wherewithal to do what is right, which is to fix the scandals and secure order.

republican leadership can’t even figure out if they want a border fence. A country which houses MIT, NASA, Motorola, the greatest military even AFTER being routed and invaded cannot build a freaking fence on the border and send some sharpshooters in.

Republican leadership is in the majority right now.

Not one of them is in for his stance on allowing illegal immigration, amnesty. Not one.

Yet they are stating that they are afraid of Obama on immigration. They do not have the integrity to stop him form heading a constitutional crisis, and they won;’t stop him.

Voters want them to, ie the election last week.

but they are not getting it.

Cant we deal with the fact that republicans do not do what they are supposed to do? And they willnot dow what they are supposed to do?

I don’t disagree with your description of the republican fortitude levels. That’s why we have all these threads.

The only way to get this done is for the public to turn up the heat on congress.

You want him removed. You want the republicans to do their job.

We had an election last week that, if one pays attention, is obviously a mandate and is one of historic proportions in getting democrats out and stopping Obama.

they heard us.

And they, republicans, that is, as I predicted, want us and ted cruz to shut up, and don’t out them on their back room deals.

you want them to hate all these scandals. they’re in on them under cover of the dems.

we voted. the American people want our country back from the trey gowdy’s who talk a big game and run away at the last minute.

and they know it.

Take heart in that. They will be gone. It’s what we want. BUt impeachment is a trap.

two more years of just stopping the bleeding and preventin ghillary.

that’s the game plan that makes the most sense. THe majority of americans do not want this guy in power.

the 2/3 who did not vote are lead able into a good system.

Obama is out he is powerless.

the media is frenzying around bo, but the reality is that he is done.

you’re preaching to the choir. I am ready to register for a conservative party. It’s time to make the gop the third party.

Those who think Cruz will be nominated in the gop are dreaming.

I’m 67 and won’t keep hitting my head against the wall to vote for someone who insults my beliefs.

I am sure congress felt the heat last week.

Problem for them is that the liberal, chamber of commerce corrupt wimpy hide behind Obama cornyn republicans are in a lot of trouble with us.

More than we know.

They don’t have the resources, and certainly not the will, to go after bo after they’ve been on his side all along. their staffers have no interest in truning attention to impeachment. they don’t so their real jobs any more than the politicians do theirs. Tehir bundlers are C of C people who love obamas policies.

Think of it this way, the republicans run on anti abortion every cycle.

no one in their right mind believes deep down that abortion cannot be easily eradicated.

They hav e huge system worked out and Obama is part of it. problem for them is he went way too far.

And they heard from us. Even the Obama supporters.

Its plenty of heat.

WE just have to trust ourselves. We are the ones who are praying. Not them.

it is certainly a dream to think of someone as decent and constitutionally sound as cruz getting in.

But to be completely defeated about it is not helpful.

Third party? If it works, fine. Whatever works.

I will say this.

No one except a constitutional adherent can lead this country away form a Hillary presidency.

Whatever outcome that brings.

No one

I am “defeated” by the experience of the last 26 years. How many times are you willing to be insulted and ignored by a political party before you wake up?

The key is to make the top the third party.

The time to stop is now.

The power behind the party will not let Cruz get nominated .

Maybe after Christie or Bush is nominated some people will wake up and smell the coffee.

Are you a realist? How do you expect to get 2/3rds of senate to vote removal? Impeachment in House does NOT, repeat DOES NOT remove Obummer from office.

So after a 6 month long impeachment process, democrats are having a heyday accusing republicans of ignoring economy blah blah...Obummer stay in office and gets even more radical.

I am glad Gowdy thinks like a good prosecutor knowing when not to over-reach.

After Christie or Bush is nominated, Hillary will get in.

Then we’ll have 4 then 4 more years of worse than obama, and we’ll be done.

So it won’t matter if the GOP doesn’t like our choice, or has the trillions to foist that loser bush / romey lite on us. If we let it happen, it’s our fault that the country was lost under our watch.

That’s all there is to it.

6 months of impeachment? When they don’t even want to do it? We’re 3 years into benghazi, and with gowdy in charge. Four years into IRS.

six months?

No.

Four years later, long after Hillary is in, they’ll be making soundbites, like this guy gowdy does a la benghazi, just to shut us up.

IMpeachment? yes, of course.

Is it going to happen?

Never
