Things keep on cooling down. We have snow and probably record cold this week in the Ohio Valley. Pretty early for this stuff...at least a few weeks to a month early for temps in the teens.

Guess we need that global warming to offset it.

Did the “climatologists” predict this cold period?

“Casey says the evidence is clear that the earth is rapidly growing colder because of diminished solar activity.”

This global warming denier thinks the sun has something to do with the earth’s temperatures. -Tom

That ball of fire in the sky that is 1 million times the size of the earth? What could something so far away possibly have to do with the climate? /sarc

Pump out those greenhouse gases, or we’ll freeze in the dark.

I thought ‘science’ had already ‘settled’ the ‘fact’ that activities on the sun have no effect on the climate here on earth.

I’m more worried about a mile of ice on top of Chicago than being able to grow bananas there.

The obvious flaw in this man’s theory is that Algore can’t sue or tax the sun. Therefore, his arguments are unscientific. /sarc/

I don’t understand his statement that “we don’t have 10 years”. If the sun controls the climate then all we can do is react to what the sun does. I am not sure what was squandered and what we should have done on Obama’s watch other than admit we haven’t a clue on climate change and need to be resident whether it goes up or down.

Climate Reporting Chaos in Oregon

For some reason, I don’t find it surprising that Oregon is a hotbed of climate alarmism. Thus, when the Portland Tribune recently published an article describing how Oregon’s “warmer climate imperils our health,” it seemed appropriate to look further into the claims being made.

Apparently, climate change in Oregon will lead to “less snow on Mount Hood? [but] we can live with that.” Interesting, given how there has been no significant trend in maximum overwinter snowpack on Mount Hood since records began in 1981. Indeed, according to an article in 2012 at ABC News Cleveland, snowpack in the Cascade Mountains has been increasing since the mid-1970s.

The only solution to this crisis is a global socialist command economy run by professors who are smarter than the rest of us.

Well, it’s 12 degrees F in Boise right now, and we got 8” of snow last week on Thursday and Friday (it snowed for 48 hours). We usually have this kind of weather in December and January, and never this much snow!

Casey told Newsmax about his theory, “All you have to do is trust natural cycles, and follow the facts; and that leads you to the inevitable conclusion that the sun controls the climate, and that a new cold era has begun. The data is pretty solid. If you look at the 100-year global temperature chart, you look at the steep drop off we’ve had since 2007, it’s the steepest drop in global temperatures in the last hundred years.”

Casey believes the theory that global temperatures are directly affected by the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is a false one, and his position is backed up by a number of prominent scientists, such as Russian astrophysicist Habibullo I. Abdussamatov, who has also stated that a new, mini-ice age has begun. In other words, it’s more a case of global cooling than of global warming.

To Casey’s mind, the theory of global warming is a false one, for a number of different reasons, as he told the publication, “No. 1, the greenhouse-gas theory, and the global climate models that they produced, never permitted a pause. As long as CO2 levels were going up, the only thing that could happen was global temperatures could go up. That has not happened. No. 2, there could absolutely be no cooling, much less a pause. And yet we’ve been cooling for 11 years now.”
