WE ARE FAST APPROACHING THE POINT WHERE we may be forced to make the choice described by de Tocqueville: Capitulate to the ever-increasing demands of progressives, thus resigning ourselves to tyranny under the guise of benevolence, or stand up for the inherent freedom of the nation as originally envisioned.

The millions killed by communist regimes, show us that there are many victims, as ideologues sought to impose communist utopias.
Maybe today’s liberals aren’t in the same category as Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao, etc. but they have totalitarian impulses as those cruel dictators had. They have utopian visions for how society should be. They seek total control over people’s lives in their quest to achieve that utopia.
As a corollary, progfascists are enamored with teams and “communities”.
Its pervasive and almost a commandment: there is no “I” in “team”.
Like so much else it denigrates the individual...how can you be part of the common good if you insist on individual achievement and reward?
Simple
For any team. if your “I”s suck, so does your “Team”.
Quoting from the posted piece:
The aftermath of such revolutions has left a bloody trail of over 150 million deaths in the past 125 years alone.
The price is usually mass genocide. One of the founders of The Weathermen Underground even admitted that up to 25 million Americans “would have to be” killed.
Maybe we just haven’t reached the PolPot, Stalin, Mao stage yet.
The price is poverty.
Progressive utopia? More like progressive HELL. “utopia” actually means no place. Does not and cannot exist.
IMHO, it isn't just a heartfelt vision for a ‘better world’ that drives most of the visible ‘progressives’. It's admirable for people to want to make the world a better place, and there are lots of ways to make contributions with our lives towards that end - without making a lot of money, gaining power, or becoming famous in the process. For the visible progressives these ways of making a contribution are not enough - because at some level with too many of them it is narcissism that drives them. That is why, IMHO, lots of ‘progressive’ politicians have a hard time retiring from it all and walking away from the limelight.
The latest revelations from/about Gruber are a good example. It is an arrogant narcissistic world view in which the visible progressives are smarter than the rest of the world, and the rest of the world needs them to save it. It's a sad self-serving world view that lacks the humility required to truly serve.
“Progressive utopia” is an oxymoron.
Good points
“Utopia” can only exist in the minds of adolescents not yet weaned off fairy tales...or perhaps were deprived of them as children.
Human nature will never all such a place to exist, there will always be the drive for human and individual rights, and to not be part of the “herd”.
Those leaders [sic] like Obama want it for themselves, and intend to try and use the fate and fortunes of others to meet that elusive end.
I know liberals, even those in my bloodline, who would just as soon shoot a conservative as look at him. And that includes me.
Now, the remaining question is when will some collectivist, sawing away at the threads that bind America, together find to his horror he has instead been successful in cutting through the balloon tether.
Once the balloon goes up, the game of Cowboys and Collectivists will be on - think of it as a combination of the Crusades Redux.
Given the probable side the Blacks, Latrinos, and Muslims will choose, it should be a much improved world when the fur stops flying.
Unlike Rome, we Americans are ready for the Barbarians.
One more thing, they will be shocked when they learn the ones they helped put in power will turn on them once they’re no longer needed and their “utopia” will not be what they thought it was going to be.
Yes history tells us that there have been useful idiots in revolutionary movements, who end up being victims.
So when you add it all up:
150,000,000 + 58,000.000 = 208,000,000 killed.
bump
They always overreach.....always.
