“Burn this b**** down.”
Some believe those words, shouted by Louis Head, stepfather to the late Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri, are what touched-off three days of rioting, violence, and untold property damage across the U.S. and elsewhere.
Head was captured on video with Brown's mother Leslie McSpadden, after a grand jury determined that Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson did not commit a crime when he shot and killed Brown in a confrontation last summer. The grand jury did determine that contrary to "eye witness accounts" Michael Brown had attempted to enter Wilson's police vehicle and take the officer's weapon, that Wilson believed his life was being threatened, and that firing at Brown was justified.
In response to the news that Officer Wilson would not be indicted, Head encouraged other residents of Ferguson to destroy as much private and public property as possible, and thus "burn down" the city.
The illogic of Head and the other "protesters" is astounding. It seems to assume that destroying other people's property will satiate one's desire for "justice," or what may more accurately be described as a quest for "vengeance." It presumes that the city will be better now that many residents have lost their jobs, investments, labor-hours and other resources.
Yet the destruction of the city's infrastructure indeed has made matters worse. In fact, the destruction of one particular business provides a symbolic reminder that no good deed goes un-punished.
Long before the Ferguson grand jury was formed - back last summer, shortly after Michael Brown's death - a particular convenience store was burned-down in Ferguson, a store owned and operated by a company called the QuikTrip Corporation.
Not every American knows the name QuikTrip. Yet the privately held, Tulsa, Oklahoma-based QuikTrip Corporation has for years been consistently rated as one of the top 100 employers to work for in the USA, and one of the world’s most socially responsible companies.
QuikTrip stores are usually larger, more fully staffed, and kept cleaner than other covenience stores. QuikTrip guarantees that the gasoline they sell will not damage a car's engine, while General Motors, BMW, Toyota and Honda have all certified QuikTrip as a retailer of "top tier" fuel.
And while the tragic death of Michael Brown shines a painful but necessary spotlight on the plight of inner-city youth, it is important to note that since 1991, QuikTrip has voluntarily designated its stores to be what are known as youth “Safe Place” zones, in partnership with the national non-profit "Safe Place movement". Troubled youths and runaways can enter a QuikTrip store and announce that they are in trouble, and QuickTrip will provide them with food, shelter, and assist them with contacting local rescue authorities, all at no cost to the youths themselves.
Ferguson's QuikTrip store is only one example of the senseless destruction of private enterprise, but it serves as a powerful example. If an entire community - indeed an entire nation - isn't taught to observe and appreciate the contributions of entreprenuers and business owners, their disappearance is inevitable.

Yes, there are brilliant black people. Thomas Sowell, for example, is a genius. I personally know many brilliant black people. But the MEDIAN IQ level for blacks is less than for whites, with the result that a larger percentage of the black population is unable to cope with jobs that demand intelligence.
Complain to the Mods all you want, but the truth is the truth, and can be readily verified.
So, your thesis is that Blacks are less intelligent than Whites.

I believe nurture (lack of or lack of the right kind) has more to do with the testing difference than anything else. I read an article about a woman that did home visits for custody issues and she noted that in the majority of Asian homes there were books everywhere. In white homes there were books, even if the family did not consider themselves to be readers there were cookbooks, self help books, magazines, children’s books. In Hispanic homes there were few books, but nearly always some in each home. She noted that black homes, unless in an upper middle class or above area usually there would be no reading material of any kind.
The saddest thing to me is I have read books about how bad slaves wanted to learn to read, to be educated. Many blacks now place no value on education. Those that do succeed far above expectations, even if they are poverty level and live in inner city conditions.
Until the majority stop following the loony left, and feeling everyone that is not black owes them a living there is no solution. We might as well give up on them, they have given up on themselves. Individually we might be able to help some of them, but those that group together under the umbrella of Al, Jesse, and those of that ilk are hopeless. A black person wandering in an all white neighborhood might get hassled by the police; but a white person wandering in an all black neighborhood is likely to be beaten or murdered. Yet they insist racial problems and solutions are solely the burden of white people. Until that mindset changes, nothing will change for that group of blacks.

Liberals, religious people, media talking heads, and university administrators who absolutely believe that Blacks and Whites have the same intelligence, the same ability to solve problems and to innovate, the same degree of self-discipline, the same morality, and the same way of looking at the world, don’t —or really shouldn’t—believe a word of it.
I got my education about race as a kindergarten teacher.
In the late 1980s, I was in my early 20s just finishing my bachelor’s degree in education at Emory University. At that time, I discovered a book called All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, a series of tongue-in-cheek lessons on living by Robert Fulghum.

As I said, I’m done with the bottom end of the spectrum. I simply don’t care anymore what they collectively do, feel, or think. If they choose to be illiterate, innumerate, ineducable, and intoxicated then we have wasted enough time and treasure trying to change their lives.

You backtrack and backpedal with amazing facile... But you seem to be a KKK racist who conflates culture with intelligence.
Same way in southeast DC. Up until the late 1980s....a number of small grocery operations were thriving there. Cocaine era and bulk shootings of the mid-80s to late 90s...with robberies and assaults....cleared all groceries out of the region. Amazing to drive through and see no commercial enterprise at all. Then you hit a dividing line between southeast and northeast....where there’s a street with several business operations and a permanent cop presence.
I think the same deal exists within Birmingham as well, on the north side of the city.

These are facts, unpleasant to you, but real none the less. You accuse me of being some sort of StormFront/White Power shill, and that is simply not the case.
You stated: Blacks have the same intelligence distribution as Whites (or Asians or any other artificial markers). It is clear that they do not. It is at best 15 points below whites. I didn't choose the study method, or the point of reference. But I base my opinions on what is presented every day. And that is they behave badly, they demand irrationally, and they refuse to change.

But focusing on IQ misses the point a little. If one man can say "Burn this b**ch down!" and hundreds are intelligent enough to hear the words and do what he says in the mistaken belief they are going to get something out of it, the problem is not intellect but a poisonous culture which punishes reason and preaches loyalty to the Tribe above all else. Which is also the exact same problem the West is having with Islam.
Eradication of that culture is going to require a lot more work than simply protecting the Maintainers from the irrational actions of the Dependents.

FR isn’t a place for racists. You cite a source that has been discredited in multiple ways. All humans occupy the same curve, it is their choices that differentiate.

OK, then how about the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education article "The Widening Racial Scoring Gap on the SAT College Admissions Test":
Not only are African-American scores on the SAT far below the scores of whites and Asian Americans, but they also trail the scores of every other major ethnic group in the United States including students of Puerto Rican and Mexican backgrounds. In fact, American Indian and Alaska Native students on average score more than 104 points higher than the average score of black students. On average, Asian American students score 227 points, or 19 percent higher, higher than African Americans.The position that "there are no differences" is used to justify the position that "any statistical disparity in hiring and promotion in high-end jobs is due to racism", which is a Leftist mantra....
But there is a major flaw in the thesis that income differences explain the racial gap. Consider these three observable facts from The College Board's 2005 data on the SAT:
• Whites from families with incomes of less than $10,000 had a mean SAT score of 993. This is 129 points higher than the national mean for all blacks.
• Whites from families with incomes below $10,000 had a mean SAT test score that was 61 points higher than blacks whose families had incomes of between $80,000 and $100,000.
• Blacks from families with incomes of more than $100,000 had a mean SAT score that was 85 points below the mean score for whites from all income levels, 139 points below the mean score of whites from families at the same income level, and 10 points below the average score of white students from families whose income was less than $10,000.
But irrelevant, by definition...and therefore pointless and inflammatory.
If someone wishes to become a rocket scientist, raw intellect is probably necessary. But observe any number of professions where the typical bear is not all that bright...college professors, in my experience...lawyers...doctors...each have their share of dim bulbs.
If someone wants to be successful it requires drive and determination, not raw intellect.

The differences are still cultural. In the same way Asians outdo their White counterparts (by and large) it is because they study more and pay attention to education.
Even in wealthy households, the Black experience in the USA is doing well in school is “acting White.”
BTW I am not arguing with your stats, nor do I find them surprising.
