It won’t happen to Boehner or McConnel.

They control committee assignments and NOBODY will suggest dumping them as leaders, lest they get a new office in a broom closet under the Metrorail with no telephone.

The republican establishment isn’t interested in fighting political battles to preserve the Republic, reestablish respect for the Constitution and restore law and order.

They are focused on pursuing their own agendas, pushing democrats out of the pig trough so they can get in, and paying back their financial supporters with favors, handouts, grants and contracts.

Boehner is not going to let actual representatives of the citizens derail his contract with Obama. He and McConnell will protect what the Sultan has built with all their ability. The worrisome thing is that Cruz the “stand-up guy” voted for him to be the Senate Majority Leader.

Obamacare is the law of the land.- John Boehner

If anyone had any doubts about a sinister “third force” which lies outside of popular view yet greatly influences public policy regardless of which political party is in power, this should dispell them.

did anyone really think that Bonehead and McConnell would stand up against the left instead of conservatives... I doubt it

voted for McConnell, that is. Boehner got lot of his vote from the so called Tea Party reps. If the people had voted for 100% Tea Party congressmen, most, maybe almost all, would be corrupted within a week of arriving in DC.

There is no need to shut down the entire government. Return to regular order and pass separate appropriation bills. Pass separate bill funding the Immigration Service with a rider the amnesty. If Obama vetoes it then only the Immigration Service is shut down. Also drastically cut back on funding for the White House. It is not that hard.

Boehner knows that. He’s assigning a false position to his opponents so he can marginalize them.

Someone was giving ma a rash last week because I said there was no way the Republicans would stand up to Obama regarding his EO amnesty. Well, how does it feel to be wrong folks?

We have been sold out lock stock and barrel, again!

It is not defeatist to be a realist.

If the Repubs aren’t going to contest Obama’s tyranny, why again were they swept into office again a month ago?

“Shutting down the entire government over something never did make sense to the American people — still doesn’t and won’t in the future,” Sen. Richard Burr, a member of Mr. Boehner’s inner circle, told the Times.

Senator Burr presents a straw man argument, alleging that any GOP move to defund Obama's illegal immigration actions will result in "shutting down the entire government." This is cover for the GOP's unwillingness to restore regular order and accountability by passing twelve separate appropriations bills -- one for each executive department. If Obama elects to veto any one of those bills, its single failure would only leave that one department without funding. From Senator Burr's comments, it sounds like the Republicans don't even have the courage to pass a real budget. Damn them!

No, he’s a resounding success.

He’d actually have to want to do the right thing here to be a failure.

He doesn’t.
