The PoliceOne.com staff "confirm[s] the status of all officers registering for PoliceOne by calling that officer's department directly."

Pretty much exactly what I just wrote in a comment elsewhere.
Obey the lawful orders of police officers. The cop can’t try your case. You have a much better chance with a judge and a lawyer, which will be provided to you. You won’t die in court, but you may if you fight a police officer, right or wrong.
People like Garner and Brown resist for one reason only. They know they are guilty and don’t want to pay the price.
If this crap results in more restrictions on police they will start walking off the job. You won’t like the result.
They always want to destroy the whole instead of criticizing the parts. They always use imperatives and imperial language like tin pot warlords in Africa.

Thank you for posting this, Null. I find it disturbing and chilling, what some of these police are posting and believing AND what some FReepers are posting and believing.

First, when did kicking ass become the job of police? Their job is not to kick ass. Their job is enforcing law, using only the force necessary to do that task.
Second, remember this about police one. It is an echo chamber. It is a place where cops can go, and only be exposed to opinions they agree with. Most of them would not dare openly say some of the things they say on police one, or elsewhere, to the members of their own communities. It outs them as the arrogant thugs they are.

In MY universe, it isn’t polarized to either cops get to do what they want, or criminals do. What you are doing is painting a viewpoint that disagrees with you in as negative a light as possible. That is dishonest of you.
It is real simple, the rules apply to cops too. My statement was dead correct. It is not their job to kick people’s ass. It is their job to arrest, not dish out punishment.
When a cop says it is his job to kick ass, he is claiming something that is incorrect. It is very bad to let cops loose sight of the limits of their actions, because then they see no limits.
