Minnesota's governing body for high school sports passed rules on Thursday that one critic said could hypothetically put a future NFL linebacker at power forward on a girls basketball team.
The Minnesota State High School League voted that boys who "self-identify" as girls and girls who consider themselves boys will be able to compete on and against teams of their preferred gender under the policy that will begin in the 2015-2016 season.
"When there is confirmation of a student's consistent and uniform gender-related identity the student will be eligible to participate in MSHSL activities consistent with the student's gender identification for the balance of the students high school eligibility," reads the policy. Executive Director Dave Stead noted earlier this year that the NCAA and 32 states already have some sort of policy or procedure in place regarding transgender student-athlete participation.
The league's media specialist tweeted out, "Minnesota will become the 33rd state to implement a policy for transgender high school athletes."
The policy requires transgender student-athletes to provide a written statement from a parent or guardian affirming the gender identity and a note from a health care professional regarding the student's consistent gender identification.

Insanity.
Minnesota really is run by a bunch of fruitcakes.
Just wait until reality hits this liberal utopian ideal.
Girls on most all boys sports teams will either be injured or not perform as well due to physical limitations.
Boys who play on girls teams will probably rule for the same reasons.
Bisexuals can play both ways.
It is the death of title 9 and girls sports teams.
The boys will move on in over time as teams bend the rules to win and the girls will sit.
How do you eliminate a boy ‘gender identifying’ as a girl?
There is no rational way to seperate the frauds from the pile.
Transgenderism is a mental illness and needs therapy, not acceptance.
Let’s see
1) Nation can’t carry out simple quarantine procedures without whining shutting it down (opens the nation up to vulnerability to next great plague)
2) Nation can’t bother actually making spending cuts (ends up in debt like Thomas Jefferson both warned us about, and didn’t want us to end up like he did, stuck in debt, and unable to get out of it)
3) Can’t logically profile risk groups for terrorism.
4) Stuck with politicians who care more about perpetually being elected and profiting off the stock market above all else.
5) Waste time and effort with big bang weapons against primitive enemies, and still can’t beat them after years of fighting.
6) Don’t know which side we’re on internationally.
Any more I can add...?
