According to The Washington Times, the Ohio Senate is considering legislation that reduces gun control by easing restrictions on concealed carry weapons permits (CCWs). The new legislation would allow Ohioans to acquire a CCW in eight hours instead of twelve and would open the door for active military to carry concealed without going through the permit process.

Good. A long time coming. Allow people to defend themselves and America will be a safer place.

Oh yeah, any time a roll-back of statism is proposed, you can count on the usual suspects throwing a tantrum or worse.

And, more often than not, with the desired result.

Muggings, robberies will be discouraged. Private gun accidents will go up, a little.

No special class please.. treat every one the same if .MIl wants to carry or LEO’ off duty they need to be treated just like every one else. Or to reverse every one should be treated like .mil and not have to take class to exercise a constitutional right.

Not true.

I wish I had the active map of the United States showing the enormous progress year by year on concealed carry.

Sometimes it does make a difference who we elect.

Agreed, but Ohioans are still morons for continuing to re-elect John Boner! The GOP has about as many idiot voters as do the RATs. The guy is a worthless puke!

Hey, I’m from Ohio and I resemble that remark! Actually I’m no Kasich fan, and I didn’t vote for him either.

Ohio is a “Cherry Red” State:

Ohio Senate - 23 Republican, 10 Democrat
Ohio House - 60 Republican, 39 Democrat

Governor - John Kasich (R)
Lt. Governor - (R)
Attorney General - (R)
Secretary of State - (R)
State Auditor - (R)
State Treasurer - (R)

State Supreme Court - 6 Republican, 1 Democrat

With all these Cherry Red Republican states, the push should now be for them to go “full Arizona” with their gun rights.

Full Arizona is good for several reasons.

1) The only substantial gun law in Arizona is that felons and the mentally ill can’t have guns. Some felons can get their rights restored by a judge two years after their probation ends. Mentally ill means diagnosed, seriously mentally ill.

2) Licenses are free, if you want one. You only might need one in traveling to a state with reciprocity, except as a souvenir.

3) The big one. The state government saves a whole lot of money and labor by doing this.

4) It demonstrates that government *does not* have to regulate and over-regulate everything. That less government is often better, even a lot better.

Now this is what a GOP majority is supposed to do and that is to start peeling back excessive government overreach. Thankfully, not everyone in the Buckeye State is a cowering, inept bought off politician. Know what we mean Speaker Bonehead?

The treasure trove of "The Midterm Democrat Demolition Derby" (and down-ticket state wins) have yet to be fully- mined, but this we know:

<><> midterms were a massive and awesome rejection of liberals;

<><> as LA-Landrieu's loss looms, Southern Democrats control not a single governorship, US senator or legislative chamber.

<><> Democrat losses stretch from the Carolinas westward to Texas

<><> Of the 140 Southern States election districts---110 went Republican.

<><> the GOP's majority in the House will be so big and solid NBC's Chuck Todd says Democrats can't recapture losses until 2022.

<><> Some pundits say Republicans have a 100-year majority;

<><> when the next Senate convenes, 29 lock-stepping Democrats who voted for Obamacare will be gone.

<><> Arkansas and Illinois (Clinton hometowns) have Repub governors---important in a prez race since guvs control party machinery.

<><> Unprecedented MINN 6th Congressional district wins---every single House and Senate district went Repub---the GOP now controls the MINN State House.

<><> Ohio's historic GOP statehouse takeover (Historic Majorities undoing Gun Control)
Gov Kasich Lt. Gov, AG, Secy of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer--all R---Supreme Court - 6 R/1 D

<><> Britt Hume says latino vote is insignificant---over 50 is 30% voting segment.

<><> Republicans have unified control — the governorship and the legislature — in 23 states (Ntl Conference of State Legislatures factoid).

<><> Republicans control governorships in Florida, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia and Massachusetts.

<><> Republicans swept the board leaving 1-2 slivers of coastal territory and splotches of land to Dems.

<><> Democrats now control gangland strongholds, Indian reservations, pineapple planters, Boston beaneries, and cotton ginners.

My copy of the Constitution must be a misprint. In my copy, the Second Amendment makes no mention of permits, fees, etc. associated with arms of any kind. It does say “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” All gun control laws are an infringement.

You must not have gotten the libiots memo that declares anything in the constitution can now be declared null and void just because they feel like it. I’ll see if I can find my copy. Oh crap. That only exists in their little pea brains. Too bad that the rules and regs seem to have at least some teeth in them. Guess someone needs to either re-define the word “infringe” or remove it from general usage huh?

According to them, they are not “infringing” on anything. Their “common sense” gun laws are to “protect the children” or some other such nonsense.

And to close the “gun show loophole” of course. Not quite within the definition of “infringe”.
