That’s BS for the media, how would this procedure have saved their lives?

It wouldn't have.

I’m starting a new company; a for profit, private police force in NYC. I’ll be a millionaire inside of a year.

DeBlasio would probably block that.

Great idea, but the government/union has a monopoly. They defend it like the mafia.

The black community, headed by Al Sharpton, appears to have declared war on the police.

Bring more popcorn.

Democrat politics.

“New York City police unions contemplating mayoral endorsements are facing a dilemma: support a Republican they agree with on policing or a Democrat who is sympathetic to organized labor.

“I really have a quandary here,” said Louis Turco, president of the Lieutenants Benevolent Association, which, like nearly every other municipal union, hasn’t gotten a pay raise in years and is working with an expired contract.

Or, as the Captains Endowment Association’s Roy Richter put it: “I got the guy that’s pro-labor and anti-police, and on the other hand, I got the guy who’s pro-police and anti-labor.”

Stay alert, stay alive, only get involved if you absolutely have to, make few arrests, fewer traffic stops and keep your eyes and ears open wide. God bless all of you.

Times Square is the last place you would want to be this year at New Year’s Eve. Stay home.

What about a special election or something?
Any way to remove this POS?

Dress him in a police uniform.

Send him to Harlem.

Alone.

Unarmed.

Enjoy.

I’d use 3. Two wingmen are better than one.

Then they may/will have opportunity to kill 4 instead of 2. Crazy times.

“From a police officer in Maryland:”

Do you have a cite/source for this? I’d like to alert someone to it, but he would need to know where it came from.

You’ll be in the East River sporting cement overshoes courtesy of the Police Union inside of a month.

Put all NYPD in special patrol cars that have the same protection for the uniformed, as the cockpit of the A10 Warthog gives it’s pilot.

We don't need cops in tanks, thats half the problem.

BTW, Do they still have cops on horseback in NYC?

"Times Square is the last place you would want to be this year at New Year’s Eve. Stay home."

Sound advice, but that's the case on every New Year's Eve. Times Square will be full of loud, cold, obnoxious drunks with no place to pee.

Plus even more of the NYPD than on a usual New Year's Eve. Easier and more pleasant to watch it all on TV from home.

Every citizen in NYC needs a gun. The police have no legitimate say now (or ever again) about gun control, having unilaterally withdrawn from effective policing for their own protection. Neither does the mayor, having screwed the pooch on this, too.

Ray Charles could have seen this coming.

You might want to consider buying a gun to protect your life, family, and property if you don't own one. The criminals and bad guys will have one. As a Texan, I wish the good citizens of NYC well in their endeavour to recover from this sad incident.
