Jeb Bush is the clear Republican presidential frontrunner, surging to the front of the potential GOP pack following his announcement that he's "actively exploring" a bid, a new CNN/ORC poll found.

He takes nearly one-quarter — 23% — of Republicans surveyed in the new nationwide poll, putting him 10 points ahead of his closest competitor, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who tallied 13%.

If my memory is correct, we got McCain because the Democrats switched over to vote for him in the early primaries. I expect to see them get very motivated to try and do the same for Bush.

Exactly! That and the media directing them.

Also, more left leaning states determine the contenders before conservative states have a say with their primaries.

I'm not sure how much weight should be given to a CNN poll published between Christmas and New Years Day. (Or, really, to a CNN poll published on any day.)

I'm guessing Bush leads in most polling on Real Clear Politics because, like Clinton, he has lots of name recognition. (The flip side of Bush's 15.2% average on RCP is that 84.8% do not pick him as their first choice.)

CNN/ORC Poll: Bush surges to 2016 GOP frontrunner

An Orc poll, huh?

Well, at least they are forthcoming about who they are.

Ignore all this early prognostication.

When the time is right - THE MEDIA WILL CHOOSE OUR CANDIDATE.

(embrace that suck!)

Here we go again, the old liberal media working harder than ever to get another RINO elected in the primary so he/she can be then destroyed in the presidential election.

Of course CNN (old liberal media) understands that most (conservative) Americans do not like Jeb Bush (the RINO) and getting him elected in the primary will certainly force most (conservatives) and especially Tea Party associated Americans to simply stay home and not vote at all, e.g. Romney (RINO).

This will insure another liberal socialist wins the next presidential election in 2016. Once Americans understand how the old liberal media manipulates and shapes our candidates (look at all the hits pieces in the old media lately on Mike Lee and Ted Cruz), then we can defeat this nonsense.

It should also be understood, many RINO’s and their sycophants plant many of these hit pieces on conservatives to help shape and manipulate you and me as well.

We should pick a solid conservative to back and that is it. Stop listening to the old liberal media and the RINO establishment telling us who to support and who not to support. If we don't learn this lesson very quickly, we will end up with another liberal socialist leading this country.

Conservatives need to get their heads out of their rears and finally realize they will never change the GOP from within. They have been trying since Reagan, and they still have made no headway.

If the conservatives and old Reagan democrats ever got together, they could form a party that would be almost double the sizes of the remaining Democratic and Republican parties.

The GOP Elites run the party and control the purse strings. They fight any state that disobeys their designated state primary date by fining the state and reducing their allowable delegate count.

Maybe the current ‘southern revolution’ of states demanding the right to move their primaries to early March will have some success. If not, as in the past, the southern primaries will not hold much importance. My southern state’s primaries in 2008 and 2012 were held late in the spring — weeks AFTER the party nominee had already been determined.

They might choose the candidate for sheep. Personally I have no fear of writing someone in if sheep flock to a liberal. Did it before. Will do it again. It what little left of America burns, I did my part to save it.

Valid point. But even when principled people are elected and go to Washington, the establishment GOP “mother ship” goes to work on them. The indoctrination and brainwashing process begins immediately to convert them into RINOs.

Media are orgasmic at the thought of another Bush-Clinton match-up. They have been pushing this since the conclusion of the 2012 election.

They could not care less about the substance of those 2. They just want to be able to cover another Bush-Clinton race. They now have 2 former relatively weak Bush presidents to dump on for comparison against the ‘successful’ [in their estimation] Clinton presidency. Hillary has already indicated that she would run on BJ’s economy, by running against the last 15 years.

Two words: Terri Schaivo.

If Jeb gets the nomination, I'll be writing in her name in November.

As others have pointed out, this is a meaningless poll based on name recognition of the Bush last name. In addition polls this early are inherently worthless anyway.
As proof, all one has to do is have a look at the 2012 GOP primaries. There was a stretch of time when there was a new frontrunner in the polls almost every week, with Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Michelle Bachmann each taking the lead in the polls at one time or the other.
Prior to the actual debates and primaries, Romney was far ahead of anyone on pure name recognition alone.
When the actual debates and primaries start, Ted Cruz, who is of an order of magnitude smarter than mediocre, amnesty loving creatures like like Jeb Bush and the Obama loving fat man Chris Christie, not to mention one of the best debaters on the planet, will proceed to flatten these RINO clowns.

A Bush candidacy will GUARANTEE another demonRAT in the White house come 2017.

That's the whole point of the effort, isn't it? That's what the GOP "leaders" want, isn't it?
