Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid broke several ribs and facial bones when a piece of exercise equipment snapped at his Nevada home Thursday, causing the lawmaker to fall.
In a statement issued Friday, Reid's office said the 75-year-old senator was hospitalized overnight at University Medical Center in Las Vegas as a precaution and was released on Friday.

Wasn’t he sporting a black eye a couple of years ago? I am like others and very skeptical of this story. What elastic strap for an exercise machine snaps and ricochets like a giant rubber band? Those soloflex bands won’t do that. I use to have one of those soloflex machines and they are only a few inches long. No way to get popped in the face.
I am pretty sure he was roughed up a bit. Was it a family member or a mob disciplinary move? Who knows? But it sure does not bode well for the republic when any senator can be beat up and it gets covered up. It reads like a Godfather story line.

Reid is 75 so no spring chicken. In 2011, he dislocated his shoulder and got a bump on his head after he slipped and fell while running in the rain.
According to the New York Daily News, Reid was using a rubber exercise band that snapped and hit him, causing him to fall.
Senator Reid was first brought to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson by his security detail. He was then transferred to UMC for further testing.
I believe he may have received his injuries by doing his Ted Kennedy impersonation, or he ran afoul of the Mob. Maybe next time they will get him for good.
Harry seems to show up with injuries pretty often. Not many geezers his age get injured that often, unless they get falling-down drunk.
Reid just learned the hard way about the danger of short- changing a tranny hooker.
