Rep Louie Gohmert was just on Fox and Friends and has thrown his hat in the ring to be Speaker. Whoo Hoo!
Will post link to article when one comes up
Cool! I suspect that Pete Sessions will support Boehner (just from what I’ve read on FR about Pete - don’t really know much about him).
Thanks for the reminder about Hurd. Right after the election, folks were saying the Pubs had elected 2 AAs (Scott and Love) and I kept saying, no we have 3 - don’t forget Hurd.
Ka-boom! He had been on the top of my list back one or two years ago! Ha-ha!
that’s a good vid for two big reasons.. Gohmert announces AND he gives lists of why boehner sux and what he’d do different
thanks for the link
I don’t know that Rep. Gohmert has any chance of becoming Speaker, (too many RINOs in the caucus) but what he has done is make it possible for Boehner to fail on a first ballot. Once that happens, an alternative to Boehner may emerge on a third or fourth ballot. Don’t forget the goal-—to get rid of Boehner!
If I recall Mr. Gohmert voted for Alan West for speaker two years ago.
Gohmert is a GREAT man!
PRAY for LOUIS!!!! Hope he makes it.
“but i dont know if this peak is enough to replace.”
There was a poll last Friday. Republican voters overwhelmingly want Speaker [Bleep!] to get booted. Only 25% of republicans like him. It’s the DC beltway that has been cramming him down our throats. They might keep him around through sheer brute force, but one thing is clear: the time is right.
THAT would be cool.
I’m pretty sure boehner and pelosi already have it arranged to get beohner the votes he needs even if 29 Rs vote for a nonBoehner.
But if they’re surprised and on the first ballot all of texas and say Georgia plus a random dozen vote for a nonBoehner, it’s on!
“I only worry that he may not have a full grasp of the school rules.”
Heh. If it takes longer than one term to learn the rules, then they’re too complicated for the term limits we need. And, he can hire a staffer to help him with rules.
Fantastic news!
Ted Yoho did a tremendous service yesterday by putting his name out there thereby instilling courage to others to dump Boehner.
It’s a great development to now have two fine Conservatives put their names out there as an option for members to vote for.
Louie Gohmert will be a great Speaker and so will Marsha Blackburn if she is willing.
Gohmert making it known should attract a good number of Conservative members, new and old.
Need 29 Conservatives to dump Boehner!
If any democrats vote for Boehner, then it must be a point of order TO MAKE THE DEMOCRATS VOTE FIRST!
Any democrats voting for Boehner should force more Conservatives to vote against Boehner and for Gohmert or Blackburn!
This vote is going to be a big measuring stick for where the Republican Party is, and where it’ll be going over the next few years.
Ticket splitting doesn’t work in the House. To win you need an actual majority. So the top vote isn’t enough.
It should be a guide for all elections and primaries.
Anytime one sets out to kill a king, you damn well better "get 'er done". Otherwise, the king's retribution can be fatal in turn.
“Gohmert is a GREAT man!”
He’s one of my favorite guests on Hannity. I don’t know if I ever disagreed with a thing he said. Borders are a big deal to him, and so are those dangerous Ebola-VISAs.
This! Is! Awesome!
I can live with that.
Louie has nothing to lose, Obama’s butt boy hates him already and has for years.
We need to get the biotch to step down. We need to come out with the dirt hard and heavy.
The same dirt that Obama has on him but the GOPe does not play like that unless it is a conservative or Tea Party member that needs thrashing
Totally agree - in fact this is a necessary occurrence in a political fight... rumors, the someone actually challenging, then using political force to attempt to put down the rebellion, rinse - repeat, until the rumors and challenges stop.
No matter what - even if this goes NO further than it is now - boehner is irreparably damaged. Good.
Let’s hope this initial challenging round is all it takes to replace him. I doubt it is - but again it’s a necessary component of replacement so let’s go!
Not to fear. You need a full majority in the House to be Speaker. Top vote without that majority isn’t enough.
The democrats should be made to VOTE FIRST.
Then if any democrats vote for Boehner, Conservatives that are sitting on the fence will know the game is up and should step up to vote for Gohmert, Yoho or Blackburn (of she’s willing).
