Louie Gohmert Reveals ‘Real Intimidation’ Happening in Speaker Battle
The Blaze ^ | January 5, 2015 | Erica Ritz

Texas Republican Louie Gohmert said there is “real intimidation” happening in the fight to determine who will be the next speaker of the House of Representatives.

Gohmert announced Sunday that he is running for speaker to unseat John Boehner (R-Ohio). Glenn Beck warned him Monday that if he doesn’t win, his political future is over.

“If you don’t win, you’re toast,” Beck said. “And that’s exactly what they’re going to be saying [to those who don't vote for Boehner]. That’s what Boehner is saying to everybody right now. ‘Listen, you don’t vote for me, you don’t play ball with me now, you’re not getting on any committee. You’re not going to be heard from again.’”

One has to go back to the States that elect people like Boehner and McConnell. The people in those states are out of sync with the rest of the people in the US. Of course crooked local politics is not something new in the US.

Well Louis... how about some "Real Intimidation" right back at em.

It's how a team wins a sporting event. I would imagine it works the very same way in politics.

Travis McGee... my hat is off to you.

That short little piece is POWERFUL and PROFOUND.

I forwarded YOUR thought to my Congresswoman in Washington at 4:05 AM this morning. I'm represented by Diane Black.

Thanks again for the POWERFUL and "to the point" perspective.

God Bless you McGee.

Really though what is Gohmert is danger of losing? He is solid in the Tyler area. I suspect though that the TX reps. will vote in lockstep for Boehner.

If this were the real world instead of DC political theater, what Boehner is doing would be called Extortion.

He is in no danger of losing his office, just being neutered.

Boehner is a traitor to the people

Yes, this is so obvious! It should cause everyone to vacate even what might once have been a reasonable vote for Boehner.

To suggest that an elected official's voice will never be heard again if that representative doesn't for Boehner is totally un-American!

It's as if Boehner thinks (and will act so) he can squelch all the constituents of a district whose representative doesn't vote for him. The nerve! The audacity! The hubris!

Boehner deserves no one's vote!

Gee, if we could only get them to play hardball like that with Democrats!

Well said.

Boehner is a bit tarnished to say the least....he needs to step aside and let fresh minds take his place. This Congress needs a leader in the style of a Gohmert or Gowdy....men who put facts, integrity and the U.S. Constitution first rather than politics. The Harry Reid’s or Nancy Pelosi’s type of politics should be a thing of the past....like Al Sharpton’s race baiting shake downs.....all are beneath American honesty/integrity...Have the grace to step aside Mr. Boehner....the average American does not need this petty, political fight....we need leadership for what is right.

I agree. As I have watched "House of Cards", I was amazed at how they got by portraying the Democrat party as to how it has always operated. Wondered how the Democrats allowed this to be exposed, BUT......

In light of the way the Republican Elite has been operating and now fully exposed, we can see how they were and are just the junior branch of the Democrat party, and operate in the same manner.

House of Cards.....exposing both Democrats and Republicans of what they are capable of. New elected members BEWARE, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Hoping the new ones will take a stand for us no matter what it costs themselves, we can only HOPE.

I called my Congressman, Ted Poe of Texas, and asked him to support Gomert. (Even my autospell/spell**cker doesn't want to let me type "Gohmert".)

Funny thing happened, tho'... When I called Poe's local office number given out by the " FEDGOV" Blue-Pages info number, I got a pitch for a satellite "package" system.... Creepy ad, how'd it get into my phone? Called his DC office and was told that that number was incorrect. RatRoots/NSA at work again? As usual?

Box score : Called his DC office thrice, got shunted off to a creepy recording once.

Called his local office three times, got creepy ads all three times, and then told by the DC office when I called them back, that that number was no good.

Blue Pages is trying to hose Republicans this morning! Please be discouraged, quit calling, we know you're probably old and feeble, so we can lean on you like this to encourage you to give up.... <recording> Give up.... Give up...

They cooperate with the democRats on one thing - growing government.

They only fight about who will control it.

I think the most telling outcome of that vote is that Daniel Webster got 12 votes out of those 28... That info tells me that he has a chance of rising in the ranks. That momentum can be built on over the next couple of years.

My guess is Boehner will retire in a few years...

I don’t know why one congressman doesn’t have the balls to slap boner the bitch. Tell him “You’ll give me the assignments I want or I’ll be the hell out of you and you’ll look worse than Harry Reid.”

They should tell boner either he gives them what they want or they caucus with the democrats. “Pelosi has said she’ll give us co-chairs on some committees. She’s probably lying but so are you, boner.”
