Ben Carson's pre-campaign troubles
Legal Insurrection ^ | January 12, 2015 | Kemberlee Kaye

Dr. Ben Carson has become a fan favorite among Tea Partiers. A well-spoken, educated, political-outsider with an inspiring story, Carson has created enough excitement to inspire a national effort to draft him into a 2016 Presidential bid.

Being an untried outsider might prove advantageous in some respects… until it comes time to deal with the airing of the past grievances. Those experienced in political combat have well-trained, battle-ready teams to deal with any unflattering press that might surface.

There is much detail at the linked article on some problems Ben Carson will encounter should he elect to run for President in the 2016 cycle.

My belief remains that WE MUST UNITE EARLY in support of TED CRUZ for 2016. We must not yet again create a split the conservative vote situation.

Dr. Carson should run for mayor in his hometown. Let’s see how he does as a chief executive in the smaller venues before we hand off the reigns of the country to him.

Ben Carson does not support the Constitution (Read Second Amendment). Nuff said about his campaign.

Carson has some bots pushing him in some ads, forums, etc. But, if anyone looks closely at some of the positions he has had, he comes up short.

As in 2012, there are a bunch, even on FR, who will jump on any bandwagon. Otherwise, there would not have been 6 different 'leaders' during the 2012 primary season.

Even in 2008, there were many who jumped on the Thompson bandwagon. I spent 5 minutes doing some quick research and discovered that he helped write and chaired the Senate committee that wrote the Constutitionally questionable Campaign Finance Reform, originally labeled Thompson-McCain-Feingold.

It is too bad that too many look for personalities and celebrities, rather than statesmen, for the highest office in the land.

As a candidate for Surgeon General or head of HHS to oversee it's deconstruction and whatever funds are available after channeled to CDC. Other than that, or as a cheerleader for Conservative causes, at least those outside of his myopic reading the the 2nd Amendment...sure.

Not a Carson fan, but he does support the 2nd amendment.

"Our founders did, however, recognize there was a possibility that an overbearing government, drunk with power, might not submit to the will of the people and might, in fact, employ the military to suppress the will of the people. This is one of the reasons why the 2nd amendment was added. ... They knew that an armed populace would be a powerful deterrent to the imposition of dictatorial powers." - Ben Carson "One Vote"

Agreed. He has NO idea what he is about to enter. He is a good man. They will try to ruin him. He should run for Congress.

He certainly did himself no favors when discussing the topic. Even with his attempt to “clarify”, he couldn’t remove his foot entirely.

agree...narrow the filed of conservatives and let the GOPe flood the field.
I think Carson may be a gret guy..but not presidential. Perhaps a cabinet post...senator or congressman

Sometimes a run like this, without any realistic hope of victory, is a way of putting the candidate out there so that he can get a cabinet position. I hope that’s the case with Dr Carson—I hope he is not really so vain that he thinks he could actually be president.

In practice he doesn’t support the 2nd amendment, he can write the words, but speaking them from his heart, is something else.

“Dr. Benjamin Carson On Gun Control: “It Depends On Where You Live”

When asked by Glenn Beck if people should be allowed to own semi-automatic weapons, Dr. Benjamin Carson said: “It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it.” (Glenn Beck Show, March 1, 2013)
