Public office is a huge step down for this guy. It’s like getting a PhD in quantum physics at MIT and then getting a job washing windows.

Pretty much. Unite EARLY behind Ted Cruz. Splitting the conservative vote will only let in. Mitt Romney or even worse, Jeb Bush.

I have worked with a number of Ivy League Medical School Department Chairmen for the past 40 years. Even though Hopkins is not technically Ivy, their Medical School is certainly in that class.

The idea of any of these extraordinary physicians and researchers becoming POTUS with no political experience is just - ludicrous.

“Dr. Ben Carson has become a fan favorite among Tea Partiers”

They know that’s not true. But what they want is us to get behind him before they really tear him down, and then they’ll put us behind another loser, and then another. EXACTLY what happened in 2012, starting with Cain, and including Santorium and Michelle B. By the time it was over we were burned out and Romney was dumped on us.

“Balancing the ticket” would need someone else as VP—say, from Wisconsin...

I have heard a number of Carson adds on radio, and they seem odd to me.

They seem like they have been constructed in a way to create the appearance of a ground swell or momentum that does not appear to actually exist.

But one of the most curious Carson adds that I heard, and it was only once, described him as a former radical liberal that has since changed his philosophy as a result of Obamacare.

That description of him makes sense to me.

In the very least it explains his position on the 2nd Amendment, which to me is a deal killer.

Another reason I would not support him is that he is too soft spoken. He does not come across as a fighter to me, and that is precisely what I am looking for in a candidate.

Lastly, a person has to prove himself to me politically in some other way to me before I would consider voting for him for President. I am not going to vote for it to find out what’s in it when it comes to President.

Agreed. He has NO idea what he is about to enter. He is a good man. They will try to ruin him. He should run for Congress.

Also agree. This person is too good of a man & too novice to get down in the gutter with the rest of them.

I too feel like someone is purposely pushing support for him.

The person that I wish to support is Ted Cruz. I am not particularly interested in any one else.

In fact, I am highly suspicious of just about everyone else, and suspicious might not even be a strong enough word.

One of his commercials that was running several months ago said that he ‘is the only candidate who can defeat Hillary Clinton.’

I thought that odd, considering he has never run for any elective position. So, how is he the only candidate who could defeat her?

==

I did hear the ad and read some about his being a reformed radical. We have too many politicians who are ‘evolving’ or have ‘evolved’. I wonder how much of that ‘evolving’ was only for political advancement?

They may be sincere, but they require additional scrutiny. Recall that Obama, if we are to believe his PR, sat in Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years and never absorbed any of the Black liberation theology.

Cruz is my man for sure but Dr. Carson would certainly be another good choice, not sure why so many think you need to be a career politician to be president. Dr. Carson is not a liar, he is a man of integrity, and certainly has the cranial capacity to handle POTUS. I believe if he states his position he would stick to it.
His original comments on the Second Amendment were suspect but I believe what he has said since which was 100% support on the Second Amendment. He is not a liar.

Make no mistake about my position the Second Amendment is the most important part of the Constitution and once we restore the Republic, we can go back to Constitution Rule. As it stands now the Constitution is merely a figure head, we haven’t had Constitutional rule for many years. Politicians for the most part are elitist statist’s and at some point we will have to engage and defeat them. “It” is brewing and anyone that denies it is a fool or liar.

Once again Ted Cruz is my man.

Being an untried outsider might prove advantageous in some respects… until it comes time to deal with the airing of the past grievances.

I'm not inclined to vote for somebody who celebrates Festivus

My belief remains that WE MUST UNITE EARLY in support of TED CRUZ for 2016. We must not yet again create a split the conservative vote situation.

Agree!

Dr. Carson should run for mayor in his hometown. Let’s see how he does as a chief executive in the smaller venues before we hand off the reigns of the country to him.

Amen to that. Before I give my vote to someone for such a high office, I want him to prove he can walk the walk, and not just talk the talk.
