California health officials on Wednesday declared electronic cigarettes a health threat that should be strictly regulated like tobacco products, joining other states and health advocates across the U.S. in pushing back against the fast-growing device.
The California Department of Public Health report says e-cigarettes emit cancer-causing chemicals and get users hooked on nicotine, although there is still more research to be done on the immediate and long-term health effects.
"Without action, it is likely that California's more than two decades of progress to prevent and reduce traditional tobacco use will erode as e-cigarettes re-normalize smoking behavior," the report says.

I would recommend an eGo ctwist battery, an Aspire tank, a pack of extra coils, and a charger. You can probably get this done for 50-60 bucks. Sample the flavors and find one you like. The staff will likely be able to give you tips and advice on how to maintain it.
The cTwist is a pretty good step up from the starter kits (which leave you wanting more pretty quickly) as its max voltage is about 4.8. The starters top out at 3.2, and it just isn’t good enough.
Because people look like they are smoking, and that’s evil. Next they’ll outlaw being outside on chilly mornings. It really is utter twilight zone time.
‘People need to stop smoking.’
‘Here’s an ecig’
‘Noooo! They’re still smoking!’
‘Just looks like it, and 80 percent effective.’
‘They need pills and patches, we got paid well to push those things.’
‘The stuff that is 20 percent effective?’
What bothered you? Are you particularly sensitive to fog machines? Did they exhale too much cheesecake? And will you be also outlawing those who choose to wear cheap perfumes too?
Freedom contains chemicals known to the State of Kalifornia to cause cancer and birth defects.
You guys are the ones being bleeding heart liberals.
Oh the poor little addicts, just leave them alone. They are so oppressed.
An addict is Selfish. Their addiction weighs on everyone around them. They need to take personal responsibility for their actions. Stop making excuses. Find God, or whatever they need to overcome their addictions.
And just because they changed the delivery system to their addiction, doesnt mean they are feeding their addiction. These e-cigs look more like a crack pipe to most of us.
So thus it must be forbidden? Tens of millions live healthier lives, secondhand smoke is eliminated, the smell is eliminated, but no, it is evil as even without nicotine, it looks like smoking.
Sorry for being a liberal hugger then. I think everything should be done to encourage vaporizers. They have absolutely demonstrated that cigarette addiction can be eliminated, along with the physical hazards of holding a smoldering stick.
I think the stupidest idea is to put people who are trying to quit smoking into smoking areas.
“They need to take personal responsibility”
You got that part right, but then you go from that to government tax and regulation. Sounds like the liberal nanny state to me.
“California Uber Alles” - Dead Kennedys
I am Governor Jerry Brown
My aura smiles
And never frowns
Soon I will be president...
Carter Power will soon go away
I will be Fuhrer one day
I will command all of you
Your kids will meditate in school
Your kids will meditate in school!
[Chorus:]
California Uber Alles
California Uber Alles
Uber Alles California
Uber Alles California
Zen fascists will control you
100% natural
You will jog for the master race
And always wear the happy face
Close your eyes, can’t happen here
Big Bro’ on white horse is near
The hippies won’t come back you say
Mellow out or you will pay
Mellow out or you will pay!
[Chorus]
Now it is 1984
Knock-knock at your front door
It’s the suede/denim secret police
They have come for your uncool niece
Come quietly to the camp
You’d look nice as a drawstring lamp
Don’t you worry, it’s only a shower
For your clothes here’s a pretty flower.
DIE on organic poison gas
Serpent’s egg’s already hatched
You will croak, you little clown
When you mess with President Brown
When you mess with President Brown
Last summer my wife found my 16 year old son’s e-cig in his back pack. After a little sit-down with him we broke the device and threw it out along with the juice. I could tell the $80 spent on the e-cig was going through his mind but he managed to keep his mouth shut. As far as we know he hasn’t returned to it or tried real cigs since. No need to have another kid addicted to nicotine.
Since this was my kid I feel a nanny state reaction is appropriate within my own home. I would not presume to tell an adult what they can smoke.
You are truly too stupid to get it aren’t you.
Embrace your big nanny state government and don’t come crying to us when it is your bull being gored.
Maybe that really is the answer. Sue the state for forcing e-cig users to go into smoking zones. They are intentionally causing non-smokers to go into an area which has been conclusively shown to be a danger to their health. Get these idiotic laws overturned by using their own laws against them.
The good old days when rebellious musicians called out actual fascism, unlike today when they praise it as long as it’s PC fascism.
I use them on trips. I don’t smoke regular cigarettes in the car and I don’t smoke in the house.
I can’t vape very long at all though.
Something in it irritates my throat far worse than regular cigarettes.
Probably propylene glycol which is used at 50% in most juices. Try high VG (vegetable glycerin) juices and check that the nicotine is 12 mg/ml (.12 %) or less.
I was wondering if that was the culprit
Love the nicotine feel but hate the smell of regular cigarettes so I was really disappointed that I couldn’t vape
Probably time to quit
Maybe I’ll try something different to help
I’ve already cut down my smoking considerably since starting antianxiety meds
Better living through chemistry. : )
Thanks for the tip
