Or they inflated their more. Some folks like them firm, some don’t. What people who aren’t addicted to whining have learned here is that the NFL has a rule that is largely ignored and has no real punishment associated with it, and they should probably fix that rule.

Going from the locker room to the outdoor cold air could do that!

Well we all know what cold water can do, so maybe cold air could.

Bread and Circuses for the masses. I wish people would be as worked up about gov’t corruption as they are about this stupid game.

Bingo. Meanwhile, many people's taxes are about to go up under the miracle of Obamacare and how much ink has been spilled about stupid under-inflated footballs? I guess the peasants are easily distracted.

Actually, signal stealing is still legal. It’s never been illegal. How would you make a rule requiring people to be precisely X stupid?

IT’s sickening how so many people are star struck and totally absorbed in sports teams. I saw on the news when JJ Watt won defensive player of the year a bunch of people in a bar applauded and whooped and hollered. I guess they thought he could hear them. And I can never figure out how exactly did him winning change their lives in any way.

People get high during the build up to the games. Then half of them are depressed when the game is over.

Alabama lost the championship and the world is still turning. Ohio State won and that’s WHY the world is still turning.

Dallas got robbed and the world is .... Greenbay won and that’s ......

The Colts got cheated and the world is still ..... New England won and that’s why.....

The Packers choked and Seattle.... IT’S JUST A GAME!

Or cooler wherever the balls were inflated, or stored, before final inflation.

That seems more reasonable than positing that the Colts balls were magic.

45-7 and you say they cheated? She Charles H’s post for the proper perspective.

When you are consistently as good as the Pats you don’t need to cheat.

Now, the sea-hags’ defense — THAT is a bunch of cheaters for you.

The rule apparently predates 1940, and is derived from the manufacturers specifications on how to treat the Footballs. No one cared before.

Goodell in particular has stated in response to a question at a presser that he’s unaware of football pressure ever having been measured at halftime of an NFL game. No one else seems to have heard of it either...which shouldn’t be a surprise.

I have believed from the beginning that the Ravens were using a psychological trick to get the league talking about deflated balls .. when it might have been just a ruse to get everybody talking about the Pats - “cheating”.

Does that smell like sour grapes to you ..??
It does to me.

28-0. All balls were regulation during that second half, and now we find they weren't really all that bad. You'd think you'd understand how stupid you really are about this.

It prevents anyoone with a brain from posting crap like you do.

But some morons just can't help themselves.

“Penetration, however slight...”

Slightly illegal is still illegal. Just means the ball boy did his best deflation job in the restroom with the 90 seconds he was given to do it by Pats management (at Brady’s request).

The rule has evolved a lot. Now it’s almost where it should be. The teams bring their own, and can modify them. The 2 big problems are the specs for modification are narrow for no good reason, and they go to guys who work for the teams after “inspection”. I’m sure it’s going to be tweaked pretty heavily this year. Hopefully the right way, wider specs.

Yes, it probably could. But that would happen to the Green Bay Packer balls as well. And, AFAIK, that didn't happen. Of course there is the possibility that Green Bay pumped their's up due to the cold because they like them that way.

OTOH, why don't we just set back, grab a beer and some chips, forget about PSI and watch the Superbowl?

The rules on the surface treatments of the balls, and the visiting teams getting to use their own balls, has evolved a lot.

I was commenting only on the pressure rule. Sorry for not being more clear.
