These numbers remind us of the extent to which the continued Jewish commitment to the Democratic Party has become an anomaly. All the other ethno-religious groups that, like the Jews, formed part of the coalition forged by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1930s have followed the rule that increasing prosperity generally leads to an increasing identification with the Republican Party. But not the Jews. As the late Jewish scholar Milton Himmelfarb said in the 1950s: "Jews earn like Episcopalians"—then the most prosperous minority group in America—"and vote like Puerto Ricans," who were then the poorest.
Jews also remain far more heavily committed to the liberal agenda than any of their old ethno-religious New Deal partners. As the eminent sociologist Nathan Glazer has put it, "whatever the promptings of their economic interests," Jews have consistently supported "increased government spending, expanded benefits to the poor and lower classes, greater regulations on business, and the power of organized labor."

The problem is trying to do the benefits of the kingdom of God, but without a God. It happens in the nominal circles of both Judaism and Christianity.
I wonder if there is not a “conservation of good” principle operating there.
Jews have given the world much in the areas of intellect, science, and music. But they have taken perhaps much more from the world due to their inexplicable dedication to the idiocy of liberalism.
There appears to be a similar sub theme associated with African Americans and music ...they have given us Scott Joplin, Jazz, Gospel music, and more, but have more than negated it with rapp (the “c” is missing) and associated drivel oozing from no-talent felons.

After thousands of years of persecution, Jews just want to be liked.
I think Jewish devotion to radical Left politics originated in Europe as a response to anti-Semitism, especially in Eastern Europe. In Russia, under the czars, and in other parts of Europe, Jews were often prohibited from owning land and were herded into ghettoes and were the target of state sponsored pogroms. Of course many were downtrodden and impoverished. This environment may have caused many to embrace Marxism, Bolshevism, and Socialism and this radical politics was brought with them when they immigrated to America.
American Jewry hasn't had to put up with what real Jews living in Israel have had to suffer , but let's advance a bit of understanding to our American Jews.
They are like many of us: born with silver spoon in their mouth and were coddled and babied through a pleasant childhood. Most all Jewish families were savers and are high achievers in the workplace. They pay taxes and rarely complain because they're LIBERALS. They want to spread other peoples' money around in the hope that it will solve problems inherent in American society.
Many have lost their religion, but still hang on to a few battered tenets of it.
Perhaps if someone like Chuckie Schumer had a rocket launcher shot up his ass he'd have a different outlook on what liberalism has wrought. Jews assimilate. Muslims never will.

It’s a sin problem. People like the kingdom of God. They aren’t always so happy with God.
...liberalism has become more than a political outlook. It has for all practical purposes superseded Judaism and become a religion in its own right. And to the dogmas and commandments of this religion they give the kind of steadfast devotion their forefathers gave to the religion of the Hebrew Bible. For many, moving to the right is invested with much the same horror their forefathers felt about conversion to Christianity.
Liberalism is their new Golden Calf.
Israel offers taxpayer-funded abortions for any reason & universal health care. I don't think it's just "American" Jews.
Good point... the golden calf is how the Hebrews, fresh out of Egypt, did “God without God.”
Socialism isn’t about helping the masses, it’s a psychological method to get the masses to accept the totalitarian control of those who consider themselves “masters.”
Jews generally consider themselves the “chosen” and are not known for their insecurity. In fact, overall they think pretty highly of themselves.
So it is not a surprise that people who call themselves the “chosen” would be attracted to a method of totalitarian political control which requires “masters” to run it.
God help them. They aren’t helping themselves very much.

It’s a problem of trying to do the benefits of God without conscience concerning the responsibilities. The highly religious do not usually fall into that trap. They have other difficulties but not that one.
