Shell have to wait at least one election cycle if she decides to run, but Hollywood actress Ashley Judd is still flirting with Kentucky politics, telling Larry King a governorship sounds interesting.
Judd, who came within a breath of challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in last years election, told talk show host Larry King that she is intrigued by the position of governor in Kentucky laying out a potential platform.
Governor seems like an interesting position too, particularly in Kentucky, where we have a mono-economy, really abusive mineral extraction, pervasive poverty, low educational attainment, Judd said on Kings Ora TV show Larry King Now Friday.
Were really low on all the different social indices and because of my work in developing economies I actually both as a Kentuckian and someone whos traveled around the world a lot have a deep bench on that stuff. And so that seemed like a possibility, but I also want to emphasize that I know that right now, Im exactly where I am supposed to be.
Unlike her potential run for U.S. Senate, Judd does not qualify to run for governor. A candidate must be at least 30 years old and be a state resident for six years.
Judd bought a house in Ashland in March of 2013, according to a report by The Lexington Herald-Leader.
Kentuckians will elect the states next governor this fall. Attorney General Jack Conway is the only prominent Democrat in the race while Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, Louisville real estate developer Hal Heiner, former state Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott and former U.S. Senate candidate Matt Bevin are vying for the GOP nomination.

As a citizen of our country, yes of course, she has that right, but she does not have the right to win. I think her problems might start up when she realizes that she might not win and if she loses, she might get crazy herself. For the life of me it’ll be possible since we’ve elected Obama.
Now, he does fake interviews used for advertising/PR for a fee.
Just like PR wire is paid to release things that LOOK like articles.
Didn’t this idiot float the idea of running against McConnell last summer? Will she dress as a giant vagina on the campaign trail? I don’t thihk she’s even that good an actress (which explains her, ahem, low profile the last several years).
Lawrence is from Kentucky too... Louisville? I’d vote for her over Judd. At least Jennifer is more honest.
Right. ‘cause she was also going to kick McConnell’s ass.
And if I were gonna run for guvna, I’d tell tired old Larry King.
Ashley Dudd
As a non-resident, let me say "oh please elect her, Kentuckians". I would be entertained by the reality TV show that's sure to come out of that move.
We have enough corrupt democRATS in Kentucky, we don’t need to import them.
I say again Not Guilty!
Sounds like an expert to me. </sarcasm>
The sad thing is that if she runs she'll get a lot of people who will vote for her because "I loved that song she did back when with that guy. I heard her sing it at the Grand Old Oprey oncet."
She can do that ‘cuz, like, you know, she’s got a deep bench on that stuff.
And stuff.
Please run, please run, please run. Pretty please !
Thinking about running for office, again? LOL.
The maj party filing deadline has passed.
It says she’s not qualified anyway, not a resident for 6 years.
True, but, then again, it’s probably good in a sense for the results to be known far and wide...
