NBC has expanded its probe into embattled news anchor Brian Williams to examine his expense accounts, New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman reports.
Williams, whom NBC suspended for six months without pay on Tuesday, has come under fire since admitting last week that he misled the public by claiming to have come under enemy fire aboard an Army Chinook during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The “NBC Nightly News” anchor also faces scrutiny over claims he’s made about his experiences during Hurricane Katrina and the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War.

But now questions about his financial reckoning regarding his expense accounts, where there's smoke there's fire, puts him in too deep to be salvaged.
It would be curious to know how he screwed up on these expense accounts...maybe the $1,200 suits?

It is absolutely silly to lambast and ridicule Brian Williams for “misleading the public”.
He reads the news for NBC one of if not the most Liberal names in news.
Lying is like breathing to Liberals. If they are not lying they are not being who they are.
Brian’s problem is that he got caught and his competition is taking advantage of the fact that he got caught.
ABC and CBS are taking advantage of Williams misfortune to try and capture a few viewers from NBC.
Brian will suffer, NBC will lose a few Nielsen points and perhaps Brian will move on to a new career somewhere else.
And Liberal media will continue to lie.
Brian embarrassed some big people, they will have their revenge.

He was never offensive to me. He was a mild mannered clonish looking dude. He was not a raving liberal as far as I know. But I have not watched NBC in years so what do I know.
He should take his millions and move to his sheep ranch in Australia. Who needs the headaches? His agents are negotiating his terms of departure...the de-coupling.
Yep....looking for other more concrete reasons to fire him. Probably makes a big $$ difference on how they close out his contract.
They go after Bill Cosby for his rapes, they go after Brian Williams for his lies yet to date Hitlery and Bill Clinton are left completely alone. Gee why is that? Two are unfit to do comedy and the news but the other two are OK to take the White House? This is the insane mentality of the liberal media on full display here.

I'm sure a small item from his July 2003 expense report has finally caught someone's eye:

They suspended him for six months to buy themselves enough time to dig up a legitimate reason to fire him without paying the remainder of the contract.
If they can find fabricated expense reports, they can fire him for defrauding the company and void the new contract.
This guy is as good as gone.
Curious why the media is fully investigating Brian Williams but is uninterested in Lois Lerner.

Expense accounts are the great playground of the venal. $10 million a year in salary and he still cribs on his expense account

That Limbaugh fellow seems to think NBC will replace Lyin’Brian with John Stewart.
Charlie Sheen says Lyin’Brian is a victim. The competition (AKA: the other alphabet networks) are simply piling on to make their newscasts have more credibility. Well...DUH!

The problem NBC was facing was that they had just signed him to a new contract at $10M/year. They couldn't fire him for lying on the air because there's plenty of evidence that they knew all about that even before they signed the latest contract.
