The US military of every stripe has an SOP, TM, FM, TB, Regulation, OPLAN, etc. to cover nearly every potentiality that can possibly be anticipated. This includes the destruction of weapons of every kind, from the nukes on down. They don’t take a dump without a specified sequence or a five-paragraph ops order.
Thanks for the info C. I never dreamed that our Marines would have in place, and possibly be forced to observe, a procedure that directed them to bash their own personal carry rifles to pieces with sledgehammers. (I can see some ‘retreating’ type SOP’s for ‘em if that situation became a prudent call yeah, but NOT the bashing of their own weapons to pieces. Damn!!!)

My second, remembering Jefferson felt “Marines” needed to fight radical islam (Barbary Pirates) on the high seas, that THOSE young men are trained for “this” let’s hope their CiC, and the pathetic ROE have NOT disarmed or inadequately supplied them in any way.
