Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) declared the country needs a fighter, not just an Ivy Leaguer while expressing that he wasnt afraid of any of the other GOP candidates and dismissed criticism of his lack of a college degree as an elitist, government knows best, top-down approach while arguing weve had [an] Ivy League-trained lawyer in the White House for the last six years [who has] done a pretty lousy job leading this country and on Tuesdays Kelly File on the Fox News Channel.
After seeing a clip of former Vermont Governor Howard Dean (D) criticizing Walkers lack of a degree, Walker stated thats kind of the elitist, government knows best, top-down approach from Washington weve heard for years. And I dont know about you, Megyn, but weve had [an] Ivy League-trained lawyer in the White House for the last six years who was pretty good at reading off the teleprompter, but done a pretty lousy job leading this country.
He continued I think theres a lot of Americans out there that scratch their head and say, we have people whove help found Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, plenty of other successful businesses, enterprises across this country who did exactly the same sort of thing I did, was have an opportunity to start a career, an opportunity to start a business, senior year of college, went out and did it.
Later, in a portion of the interview released exclusively on Kellys Facebook page, Walker said he was not afraid of anybody in the GOP field and would focus on Hillary Clinton. When Kelly joked that Hillary went to Yale, Walker responded all the more reason to put someone in whos a fighter, not just an Ivy Leaguer. Someone whos a fighter.

Right on.
William F. Buckley, Jr. said he’d rather be governed by the first 200 people in the phone book than 200 faculty of Harvard. One can easily see what he meant.
The We're better than you attitude of Ivy Leaguers--especially among the Left--was clearly described in Michael Medved's book Right Turns. Especially when Medved's hitchhiking travels showed him many parts of the USA that many among the Left would never see in their lifetimes, so the Left never really understands the needs of the "common people."
(By the way, Mr. Dean, if you think having a degree is great, then how come Bill Gates III, the late Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg--all darlings of the Left--never finished college but created companies that literally have changed the world?)
What food have Ivy Leaguers done us so far?
Actually, one of my favorite Presidents was Truman... right up to the job, that guy!!
I am sure he couldn’t be regarded as an Ivy Leaguer by any stretch.
So far, Walker is at the top of my list. And that list seems to be growing shorter by the week, if not by the day.
Harry also was our last President who did not have a college degree.
Fortunately, Ted Cruz is both a fighter and an Ivy Leaguer.
If we needed a President who was an expert in French literature....then we’d ask why?
If we needed a President who was an expert in physics....then we’d ask why?
If we needed a President who was a veterinary science graduate...we’d ask why?
If we needed a President who was a NCAA football coach...we’d go to Bama and bring Saban in as our President/Coach.
We don’t need some guy to read a speech off a teleprompter, or campaign-funds banker, or some I-President (I did, I say, I think, I invented, I ordered, I texted, I winked, I believe, etc).
Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren, Zachary Taylor, Millard Fillmore, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, Grover Cleveland, Harry Truman
Walker might be a Chamber of Commerce kind of guy on illegals. We need someone who is very strong about stopping and reversing the invasion of the US.
The only good things the Ivy League is good for is ‘The Game’ (Yale Harvard football) and Yale Harvard Rowing...
Want to talk qualifications? Our current President not only does NOT have a college degree, but he isn’t even a citizen
You are wrong on Walker’s stance on immigration.
Walker needs to be real careful in comparing his accomplishments to those of his fellow non-grads such as Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg. They all had tremendous accomplishments in the private sector. Walker, on the other hand, has been a government official and politician. He of course can claim some accomplishments (controversial for many to be sure) as a politician, but they pale to those of Jobs, Gates, and Zuckerberg.
If Walker keeps up these comparisons, he is going to find himself on the receiving end of ridicule not seen since Quayle compared himself to JFK.
I hope so. If you see a post where he gives a statement about it, could you ping me? Thanks
And that is just for starters.
