WaPo To Walker: Do You Think Obama Is A Christian? Loves America? Is a patriot?
TDC - The Daily Caller ^ | February 21, 2015 | Scott Greer

The 2016 presidential campaign might’ve just witnessed the most outlandish question posed to a potential candidate yet Saturday.

In an interview with The Washington Post’s Dan Balz and Robert Costa, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was asked whether he believes Barack Obama is a Christian.

Walker immediately responded with, “I don’t know,” which served as the Post’s headline for the reporters’ hard-hitting examination of the possible 2016 contender.

Walker went on to clarify his response in the interview.

“I’ve actually never talked about it or I haven’t read about that,” Walker said, in a voice Balz and Costa noted was “calm and firm.”

“I’ve never asked him that,” he added. “You’ve asked me to make statements about people that I haven’t had a conversation with about that. How [could] I say if I know either of you are a Christian?”

The correct answer is, “Barack Obama is not on the ballot in 2016 ... is he? Let’s stick to something more relevant.”

WaPo’s new version of the old “do you think Obozo is a US citizen?” gotcha question.

Did the Wapo ask dems the same question?
no. The questions are a trap for Republicans only.

I think other Republicans need to follow Giuliani’s lead. Obama can’t take the same level of criticism that President Bush did. Obama and his handlers and sycophants squawk like startled chickens when some yells “boo” and frankly, its great fun to watch. Obama should be needled and poked regularly simply for the laughter it evokes when he and his bun buddies react.

Great answer. Walker and others should respond: “I am a Christian. I love America. And I am a patriot.” And keep saying it because the left hates hearing it.

WaPo needs to fact check, with the cameras running.

"Mr. President, are you a muslim, or a Christian, or an atheist? Which one?"

Obama will come out as a Muslim right before he leaves office so he can add that feather to his cap besides being the first half black President.

Yes, that's a very good response to these trap questions.

It's apparent that Gov Walker, so far, is coming prepared for this onslaught and is proving to be ready for prime time. I would've prefaced your comment with something very similar to the response he did give. Along the lines of, "The president (small 'p' in Obama's case) & I have never had a discussion on theology. Therefore, I don't know what's in his heart. Perhaps you should ask him!".

Another good answer:

"Oh...you're confused about it too? I mean he says he is...but his worldview seems very sympathetic to Muslims and hostile toward Israel so he's sending mixed messages."

We’ve watched Walker get this type of press treatment for a decade here in Wisconsin.

Could his answer have been a bit more fine tuned? Maybe. But he’s proven that these type of monotone responses play very well politically even though I know some Freepers would have liked him to go full throated against Obama on this issue.

And the monotone responses drive the media nuts. Walker’s biggest political strength is that bland personality that simply focuses on issues of political and economic freedom. He doesn’t get baited into the Fox News/MSNBC debating society.

Such questions I put in the same category as “does this dress make me look fat?”

Walker’s answer was appropriate.

Really he’s being asked to judge what is in another person’s soul and to offer whether someone else is devout enough.

“Why don’t you ask him?” would have been my response.
