Wouldn’t such a discussion bring out a fact that a young and ambitious House clerk to be lawyer or in fact a young renegade female lawyer by name of Hillary was part of the effort to derail McCarthy’s efforts to get at communists in the US government.

And how was a U.S. Senator who spent just 4 years in the majority out of 10+ years in that body (only 2 of which when he had ANY seniority) in charge of a House committee ? Hillary did have a brief moment in the Watergate persecution of Nixon but was fired when her boss discovered her total lack of integrity.
Hilary was part of the independent prosecutors team filing charges against Nixon, not McCarthy. (I think)
