ATF is not the problem. It’s the current occupant of the Oval Office who is the problem. and we’re stuck with it for a while.

ATF is not the problem. But, to what problem is ATF the solution? Prohibition?

Works for me. Burn the buildings and salt the earth.

But the ATF can be so useful, so readily moulded and aimed to serve the anti-Second Amendment desires of a Chief Executive so inclined.

There! That’s all we need to know. No BREAKING NEWS, no breathless reports of Call Yer Congressman Right Now! or any other red herrings from these frauds.
We all know that The Great Black Father in the White Hut will call down to his little boy at the “capitol” and tell him to quit it.
Johnny will immediately comply.

We need to abolish it and NOT replace it with anything else.
AND the people need to not be transferred, maybe become parking control people for cities.

I believe you’re in Michigan, why would Conyers have sponsored something like this before?

Dissolving the ATF hasn't always been a priority for just Republicans, who generally oppose gun restrictions. Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, previously introduced a bill in 1993 to turn over the ATF's duties to other parts of the Justice Department.
He didn't exactly want to get rid of it, he wanted the Clinton justice department to run the show.

Much misinformation here. The bullet is not "armor-piercing" in any real sense, except that it will go through the typical body armor that cops use...
...as will any garden-variety .30-30 bullet from a Winchester lever-action. Such ammunition is routinely sold at your neighborhood Wal-Mart.

If the bill passes they will offer buy-outs for those near retirement. The rest will go hither & yon in the DHS.
Savings will be nil. But I still like the bill, ATF is a obsolete bureau.
