I remember such a scene in a movie, but cannot remember. I am sure that it wasn’t Jimmy Hoffa, cause he would float to the top when the lake warmed up in the summer..

Probably was, that rings a bell, I know they toss a guy in at the end, but I think he had it mind for someone else.

I was picked up by the national guard once walking in a blizzard. I was dressed for winter but I was struggling and had a long way to go.

An American seeking to become an illegal alien. What will they think of next.
I admire the guy’s moxy. Here he was, trying to take Canada one more time, showing us armchair guys exactly how...
I feel like Carrol O’Connor’s character in “Kelly’s Heroes”....”somebody get that guy a medal...”
To: cripplecreek
Geez, good thing they came by.
Where did that happen? What were you doing?

Umm, Toronto is 200 miles east of Lake St. Clair.
This guy is going to feel really stupid when he sobers up.

It was for a girlfriend. I got off the bus in Clare Michigan at about 10pm and had to go to Evart about 30 miles away. I made about 12 miles before the NG rolled up and said “You really shouldn’t be out here”.

Wasn’t that movie shot in Detroit...I watched it. They were after the gang that killed their foster mother that raised them all.
To: cripplecreek
Holy smokes, that’s a long way. Back in the day 30 miles was considered good for horse and rider.

Every one of these trustfund thrillseeker jackasses should be billed for every man-hour, minute and second of all the resources spent saving their jack-asses. The salaries get paid anyway. The equipment is often is use anyway. Often, the rescue mission is actually good training for something bigger. Lighten up.

I don’t really blame the guy. If it were nice and warm I might try the same thing.

I would probably watch it if it was shown on TV again.
