And aother thing, it wasn’t a purple state before his brother imported so much cheap labor.
I agree, he’s flat-out liberal.
Actually, it’s only his recent record that is bad, from when he started courting the GOP-e. He was a good governor of Florida, much more conservative than W. However, Florida was much more conservative at that time and probably so was the entire US.
He’s okay when he’s in an environment where he’s supported, but if he’s not, or is aiming to move outside of it, he’s very conciliatory and not reliable at all.
Right now, the US needs a leader and doer with vision who will unravel the horrible things Obama has done to the US.
But that doesn’t mean conservatives need to trash and destroy anybody who doesn’t meet those qualifications, because maybe that person would be good at something else in a new administration. I think Jeb Bush would be good at dealing with business and trade matters. Secy of Commerce?

Jeb is right. “Moderate” isn’t the word for it. “Liberal” is more accurate:
Illegal immigration is an “act of love”
and
pretending the courts get to be the final answer on marriage
are not really “moderate” positions, statements or actions.
They are right of the liberal playbook.

He can be Secretary of New Americans in the Hillary Clinton administration.
I'd never vote for him. Because of Teri Schiavo, I wouldn't even think about it.
How about excusing the alien squatters as doing an “act of love” by breaking our immigration laws? That one will stick to you like dog droppings.
If Jeb is not thinking clear and sober, why should anyone trust him as a President?

It's that retired politician syndrome. When many Democrat politicians leave office they move to NY or stay in DC and move several giant steps to the left.
They don't have to please the folks back home and all their new friends are a lot more liberal or progressive. So Al Gore or Bill Clinton have different views now than they had 20 or 30 years back.
Bush may be the Republican version of that.

And his apparent solution is to cave to the liberals each and every time.

Everything we can think of about his program...
indicates he is a liberal...NOT a moderate.
He’s right ... nothing “suggests” (which leaves room for doubt). But there is plenty in his record that exposes, reveals, or proves that he is a moderate, or perhaps even something to the left of moderate. But I’m glad he wants to call himself something else, since it promotes the idea that there’s something wrong with being a moderate.
Well, he at least opposed it. I was there at the vigil, and it was down to the wire: would he call out the State Police to rescue her, or would he let the Tampa/St Pete establishment get away with their threats to ring the hospital and shoot at anybody who came in?
Virtually all of them there are Scientologists, like her husband - she supposedly collapsed and entered into a coma during a Scientologist “purifying” starvation.
I was standing there when we thought that gunfire would break out, because the local police had surrounded the place and the only question was whether the Governor and the State Police would come in. But Bush didn’t do it, because he felt it would provoke a constitutional crisis, and I’m sure, also because he felt there would be deaths.
So unless you were there at this unreported event - which I did witness, and the press did not report, even though there were more press than demonstrators (where were you?) - I think you should reconsider your remarks. He did what he felt he could - but even the special bill he tried to get through the Florida legislature was destroyed...but a Republican, the odious Speaker Jim King.
As I said, I don’t think he’d be a good presidential candidate, especially now that he has become so conciliatory, but don’t smear him for something in which he did the best he could.
Even if your scenario is correct, he lacked courage and put the threat of a constitutional crisis ahead of taking forceful action. He should realize it disqualifies him as presidential material, letting that woman die.
