Let all bitterness and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking
be put away from you, with all malice;
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God
for Christs sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4: 31-32

Heavenly Father,
You have given us an example of grace that You desire we model in our interactions with others. We live in a culture where we have grown increasingly coarse and aggressive in our communications. Frequently, anger, wrath, clamor, and evil speaking are generated without hesitation; and sadly, this happens to Christians as well as non-Christians. Lord, You have called us to be salt and light. We fail to be that light if no one can see any difference between those who love You and those who know You not. Father, because we are the body of Christ, may we be the hands, voices, and hearts that extend Your grace to others. Help us, Lord, to represent Your Kingdom with the love that You have placed in our hearts. We pray that others would see the difference in us and that we would always reflect Your love in all that we do.
Grant our military men and women the peace that passes all understanding. Help them with every challenge and dilemma, and may they always cast their cares upon You for You care for them. Give them supernatural protection as You assign mighty angels to guard each one.
May Israel be eternally blessed, Lord, and may You guide their leaders through Your wisdom and grace. Help them to know that You are the God of the ages, and that You will not forsake them.
Lord, You are our dwelling place for all generations. Help us to honor You this week in all that we say and think and do. May we host Your eternal presence within us as we seek to glorify the One Who died for us. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

Gen. George Washington and his Troops Marching To Valley Forge December 1777 |
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.
AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your Loving Embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Pursuing Holiness
We often see surveys that ask people if they are happy, satisfied with their work, or enjoying life. But Ive never seen an opinion poll that asked, Are you holy? How would you answer that question?
One Bible dictionary defines holiness as separation to God and conduct fitting for those separated. Author Frederick Buechner said that when writing about a persons character, nothing is harder to make real than holiness. He adds that holiness is not a human quality at all, like virtue. Holiness is . . . not something that people do, but something that God does in them.
Romans 6 presents the stunning gift that God gives us through faith in Christ: We were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (v.4). The pursuit of holiness occurs daily as we yield ourselves in obedience to the Lord instead of following our old ways of self-gratification. Now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life (v.22 nlt).
Are you becoming more holy? By Gods grace and power, the answer can be a resounding Yes! More and more each day.
Father, I want to cooperate with You in Your work of changing me to become more like Jesus. Help me to walk in Your ways. Without Your work in me, nothing of lasting value will occur in my growth in holiness.
The choice to pursue holiness is a matter of life or death.
: In Romans 6:23 we are shown the great contrast between earned wages and the gift of grace. All that we are capable of earning (wages) is death, but in Christ (the gift of God) we are offered payment for our sins and life forever.
