Bob Menendez, facing DOJ indictment, undecided on Loretta Lynch

Sen. Bob Menendez is stuck in an awkward spot over Loretta Lynch’s nomination to be attorney general. The New Jersey Democrat must decide whether to vote for her confirmation to run the Justice Department, even as the department is preparing to charge him with corruption within days.

The matter is so sensitive that the two have not met personally, even though Lynch has paid courtesy calls to nearly every senator considering her nomination. While every other Democrat is prepared to support her, Menendez refuses to say how he would vote.

Moreover, if the department indicts Menendez before Lynch’s nomination comes to the floor, it’s possible he would recuse himself from voting, a decision that could have huge implications given her margin for confirmation is expected to be razor thin.

In a brief interview Wednesday, Menendez said he was undecided on Lynch’s nomination.

“I’ll decide that when she gets to the floor,” Menendez said.

While I'm not holding my breath, Menendez may screw the democrats if they don't do something for him.

Really sad that we have to count on a democrat since our own worthless republicans Hatch, Graham, Flake and Collins will carry her over the line.

I’m not a Menendez fan at ALL! However, it’s funny to watch him use Obama tactics on his own party!

Popcorn time!

Voting FOR her will enhance his chances of getting away with his reasons for being charged in the first place.

You can see why they are desperate to get rid of him. He’s the only Democrat I can think of who doesn’t toe the line for Obama.
As for the Rinos you mention, they are a disgrace. I thought I read that Graham had to decided to vote against her at the same time McCain did. I don’t think he is capable of independent thought.

Bob’s working the WH to see what kind of deal he can get for supporting Lynch.
