What the hell? What does getting to the moon have to do with Muslim outreach? Is NASA quietly telling O to pound sand?
So, the idea is to put muslims on the moon? That’s worth $10 Trillion, no?
Walking on the moon is “disrespectful to all-ha” there for Obama will be very angry about this.
With Obama a lame duck and the GOP now running Congress, NASA can now dare to face the reality that the engineering, financial, and human factor challenges of a manned mission to Mars are so daunting as to make it impractical for now. Building a Moon base first though offers useful experience and a potential source of fuel for a Mars mission a decade or two later.

Which means, “we’ll talk about it every few years.”

All this talk about the government or governments going to the moon, Mars, and into outer space is ridiculous. This isn’t the mission of government; rather, private industry/individuals, like minded private groups should be going, exploring, and settling!
We need to get rid of the obnoxious Outer Space Treaty of 1967 which does not allow private ownership of outer space resources. For example, even a small asteroid might contain more gold than has ever been discovered on Earth history but anyone finding it technically couldn’t keep it!
When this is changed, space exploration will enter its Golden Age, and the human spirit will continue to exploit and explore just as we did on this planet!
