And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout,
behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth,
they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen;
Remember how He spoke unto you when He was yet in Galilee,
saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men,
and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
And they remembered His words.
Luke 24: 4-7
It is hard to comprehend good news that is so piercing, so far-reaching as that of the Savior having risen from the dead. We confess that without the Resurrection, we would all surely be condemned to death and have no hope of life eternal. But because of our Saviors finished work upon the Cross and because of His Resurrection, we who believe can follow Him into eternity. O Blessed Redeemer, we thank You. O Precious Savior, we exalt You. O Lamb of God, we love You.
Father, now that we have once again celebrated the good news of the Resurrection, what shall we do with the great gift of love that has been given us? Shall we fritter it away or save it only for ourselves? Shall we cower in fear at telling others the message of salvation? Holy God, help us to stand, to share the good news, and to become not just believers, but followers of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we ask that every one of our current and past military men and women would know Jesus. Wherever there are those who do not know Him, please bring people into their paths who will share the love of God with them. Father, we want none of them to perish. Help them, Lord God, to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.
May Your finest blessings be upon Your people Israel, along with Your protection and Your enduring love. Father, we ask You to call on people all over this nation to pray for Israel, for indeed You will bless those who bless her.
Thank You for the Cross, Lord. Thank You for the love You gave and the tremendous sacrifice You made to purchase forgiveness, healing, and everything we would ever need for all of our days. We are undeserving of Your grace, and we cannot do anything that would earn Your favor. And so we simply accept Your beautiful gift of love with our eternal thanks and praise. Blessed is the Name of the Lord. We rejoice that He is risen! He is risen indeed! In the Name of Jesus, our Savior, we pray. Amen.
