O’Malley: Republicans ‘Hate’ Obama More Than They ‘Distrust’ The Ayatollah

Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, a potential challenger to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primaries, had a word or two to say to those criticizing President Barack Obama over the framework of a nuclear deal with Iran, announced last week.

“When you hate the President of the United States more than you distrust the Ayatollah then you probably shouldn’t be in the United States Senate,” O’Malley said during an interview with the Iowa Press on Saturday. He referred to the Cotton letter signed by 47 Republican Senators that was sent to Iranian leaders last month.

O’Malley, who is still testing the waters on a presidential run, was in Iowa over the weekend, on a two-day swing through the state.

...“When you hate the President of the United States more than you distrust the Ayatollah then you probably shouldn’t be in the United States Senate,” O’Malley said...

Huh?

They're not mutually exclusive.

"......But first, a song.

O’Malley lingers in front of the crowd at Margaritas, teasing them into thinking there is any chance in hell that he is not going to pick up the guitar and sing. “I don’t know, they’re all breaking up,” he jokes as he watches a few people disband to the back of the room where margaritas are being served. “Maybe they just want to go back to the bar!”

He gives up, lifts up the guitar, it’s red strap decorated with yellow suns, and strums. “Sing it with me!”

He begins softly crooning Woody Guthrie’s This Land is Your Land, his right foot tapping along to the pleasant tone of his voice.

As O’Malley sings, his eyes remain wide open. His steely, unbreakable gaze communicates a desperation that makes the performance feel like an audition for a version of American Idol wherein the winner receives the presidency rather than a recording contract.

It’s unsettling…To me anyway, but maybe not to the rest of the crowd. They eventually join him, whisper-singing in eerie unison.

Nobody living can ever stop me
As I go walking that freedom highway
Nobody living can ever make me turn back
This land was made for you and me

O’Malley is 52 years old, of average height, with grey hair styled in the back to conceal an emerging bald spot. He is exceedingly charming, but flashes a smile so pleasant it verges on menacing.

He grew up in a political family (his parents met working on a Young Democrats newsletter in 1954) and first entered politics in 1982 as a “young college student,” he said, at Catholic University, when he took a semester off to volunteer for Gary Hart."....Source

O’Malley has it backwards.

Republicans don’t ‘Hate’ Obama More Than They ‘Distrust’ The Ayatollah, they distrust Obama More Than They hate The Ayatollah.

Big difference.

RE:”O’Malley: Republicans ‘Hate’ Obama More Than They ‘Distrust’ The Ayatollah”

Cin, I am falling in love with you babe with posts like these.

I unfortunately live in Maryland and suffered 8 years of O Martin Malley and about 60 tax increases, gay marriage, drivers licenses and tuition breaks for illegals, voting for felons, its endless.

No, as bad as they have been, Republicans never came close to the evil and dishonesty that Martin O Malley has brought.

Watch this Ahole closely. He is a devious lying weasel who will surprise you. He is very smooth talking.

Regardless of whether it comes from Iran or the White House, a snake is still a snake.

That loser's serious, but no one takes him seriously as a candidate for POTUS. He isn't even viable as a running mate for either Lizzie or Hitlery, since all three are east coast. Hitlery's running mate would be someone out of Washington State or Colorado; Lizzie the Pretend Indian would want to get a Pretend Muzzie like Calypso Louie or a pretend Latino like Illinois Luis.

O’Malley has been on my radar screen as a dangerous rodent Presidential aspirant since he was Mayor of Bawlamer.

This is a very unusual accusation for a Democrat since he didn’t call anyone a racist.

RE:”O’Malley has been on my radar screen as a dangerous rodent Presidential aspirant since he was Mayor of Bawlamer.”

Thank you bro.

I so despise him,
and like with Grahamnesty's easy re-election I could see disaster ahead in 2010 re-electing him and there was nothing I could do to even slow it here.

I worry about this weasel.

At the moment he is still very unpopular here with all the tax increases but things change so fast in politics.

He is a sleazy piece of dog crap.

His success at deceitfulness and lying is beyond belief for those not watching him closely as I had to, tax increase after tax increase, like 60 of them.
gay marriage, drivers licenses and tuition breaks for illegals, voting for felons, its endless.

PLEASE, we need to keep this devil out of the WH.

Just watch him talk on TV, he is evil.

I was in the same boat for some time with Al Gore, Jr. back when this state had a weak GOP (first as an adjacent district Congressman, then as Senator). However, I also rightly predicted when he got the nomination for President that he would fail to carry Tennessee (as the state had finally tired of his antics as VP and move to the ultraleft after he had bamboozled the state claiming to be a “moderate”).

The irony that he was so arrogant he took TN for granted and went elsewhere to pick up support isn’t lost. If he carried the state, all the FL stuff and everything else wouldn’t have mattered. I still remember Election Night 2000 and he was having his shindig outside here in downtown Nashville and we had some nasty t-storms come through shutting down the festivities. It was fantastic seeing him lose.

I still remember Election Night 2000

I was an inmate of the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts at the time and had to endure a barrage of "Selected not Elected" bullcrap for weeks. I finally got fed up and told one of my superiors in the lab
"You do realize that your entire argument is based on the assumption that people who are likely to vote for your candidate are just too stupid to know how to vote?"
I think I actually watched her brain throw a rod.

Naaaah... I HATE Obama. Hate everything about him, hate his entire administration and anyone dumbe enough to have voted for him. “They” are the ones that need to leave America.

As far as the Ayatollah goes at least he’s honest. He says what he means and means what he says.

Obama lies to your face and does the opposite quite a bit.

It is not a matter of how much trust Republicans have in the Ayatollah, there is none. It is the Current Occupant whom the Republicans distrust, as he seems somehow unable to comprehend the danger of arm-wrestling a boa constrictor.

The first mistake is to even think the boa constrictor HAS arms, or that the rules are even understood, as the task of “negotiations” is undertaken.

When the boa constrictor has crushed the life out of its prey, then it swallows and digests the mangled remains. Keeps the boa going for months until it has to feed again.

I certainly don’t distrust the ayatollahs. They have proven to be very consistent and predictable. They are not apt to follow through on what we might want them to do but if you start from the premise that they are working for their own interests you find that they can be trusted to do things in a certain way and work for predictable ends by known and predictable means. What is not to trust? And I don’t love Hussein, either. But I can trust him, too.
