Talk radio host and author of “The Liberty Amendments,” Mark Levin said that the GOP field has a group of young conservatives that included, but was not limited to, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio, who were “smarter, wiser, quicker on their feet, more principled than any group of young conservatives seeking the presidency I’ve seen since Reagan” on Wednesday.

I very much like Mark. But his dogged insistence on conflating Rubio with Cruz and Walker is disconcerting. It makes me think the less of him.

Key: “Senate GOP plays it safe on gay rights vote”

Where was Cruz on this? Why didn’t he object? Too busy campaigning?

Mark has also been fooled by UT Orrin. PA can have him back.

It is certainly great to get this out in the media. But a saturation of conservatives may well play in the favor of the RINO, Jebeneezer. I’d like to see at least Rubio back out and Jindal not get in. If just Cruz and Walker were in the field for Primaries agains Jeb, I could see one of them winning. You split the vote too much and the establishment, with the help of the MSM will appoint the Jebi.

It may well be futile for the POTUS at this point anyway. It is a numbers game when you consider the that 50% of the population in this nation relies on the government for at least a portion of their livelihood. If the dems turn out the vote, Scooby Doo could admit to murdering the Pope while high on crack and still get elected as the Democratic Candidate. If the GOP puts up a moderate, the dems could run a poodle and win. I won’t vote for Jeb.

I actually know how you are feeling. BUT.... Levin is really trying to move the country to seek out a true conservative candidate, plant the idea and grow the enthusiasm. We are still a long way out from the elections or even serious campaigning. Step 1, convince the country we need another Reagan. Step 2, sort out the truest candidate and support Cruz. We need to eliminate Jeb as soon as possible in the hearts and minds of primary voters. He is working on the "independents" and "democrats" that are starting to pay attention over the past 8 years. FReepers will get it right. Give him some lattitude here, he is a brilliant man.

I can understand your assessment of his intent also, but I am not of the opinion that I have to sacrifice my personal thoughts to accommodate his agenda, either. To me it risks his losing that part of whatever listening and influence base he has with real conservatives.

To me, giving latitude on this aspect is the rough equivalent of saying we need to ‘do something about immigration reform’ because we have to pander to Hispanics in this country to get their votes or that we have to elect even GOPe candidates because the alternative is worse.

I understand, but I am not buying it.

“First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border.” “It is not conditional. The legalization is not conditional.” Marco Rubio speaking in Spanish appearing on Univision in 2013. Meanwhile in English he promises to secure the border first.

Rubio is trash.

Your evaluation is fair. I don’t object. But consider an America where the only Republican candidates to vote for in primaries consisted of the likes of Cruz, Paul, Rubio and Jindal.

This would create a situation where we were analyzing and arguing about a candidates position or values on a specific important issue (like immigration). This is the intended vetting process we should be going through. Instead, today, we are still trying to overcome “I’m not voting if Bush is the General Election GOP candidate.” That is not just a problem for Conservatives, it’s a problem for the country. By and large, our intent is to preserve and advance the freedoms of individuals in the country we love. We believe those original virtues, values and intentions as scripted in the Constitution is our best way to national and individual prosperity and happiness. The RINOs, liberals and uninformed, do not share our values, or intellect on these things for that matter.
