Here’s the bizzare thing (for me ) about this report:

The police initially stopped Gray because he “fled unprovoked upon noticing police presence,” according to charging documents written by officer Garrett Miller and cited by The Baltimore Sun.

Why would Freddie run for no reason?

I gotta say, when I was teen, some of my friends would run when the cops showed up just to F with them. When they got caught, the cops would ask them why they ran. “Because I was tired of walking.”

So, it isn’t ENTIRELY out of reason that someone would run for no good reason. My gut says Gray had a reason, but again, it could happen.

“Why would Freddie run for no reason?”

He had a long rap sheet & was known to police. People with criminal pasts are wary of the police

Apparently a bike cop made eye contact with Fast Freddy, the former thug, er hero.

A person running away is not probable cause...

Why do you care why he would run? People are allowed to run. His knife was legal too.

Why would Freddie run for no reason?

Why should the police pursue him if they had no reason to?

Maybe he heard is mother calling. Maybe he’s been roughed up before. We can conjecture endlessly, that’s why the SCOTUS decided that merely running wasn’t sufficient probable cause.

Why would Freddie run for no reason?

Everybody's misused him; ripped him off and abused him.
Another junkie playin'; pushin' dope for the man.
A terrible blow, but that's how it go...
Freddie's on the corner now... if you wanna be a junkie, wow...
Remember, Freddie's dead...

Why would he flee? Could be because he had a knife. Could be because he was afraid of the police officers. Could be both.

He suffered brain damage from lead poisoning as a child.

I’m all for the police doing their jobs and I believe that Freddie was a confirmed thug and a waste of space piece of dung, but to be honest, there is nothing wrong in running from the police if you are not doing anything wrong.

That said, these police are going to be charged with a bunch of bogus charges, just to make thugs happy.

Maybe he was worried about being murdered by the police...

...

...

Seriously, though, since when does someone need a reason to begin running on a public street. If the police were not already seeking him out for questioning about a crime or other incident, and as long as his running did not directly endanger others on the street, then it is absolutely, positively, NONE of their business why he began running.

"Why would Freddie run for no reason?"

Because he apparently suspected that the police would chase him for no reason. You have to experience it in your suburb to find out what's in it. ;-)

Be patient. So far, it's coming. Organizations for state and local governments are pushing for the laws and policies that their members will soon be subject to.

Here's one their own messages from their corruption back to them, and with much satisfaction. "The toes that you step on today may be connected to the...that you'll be kissing tomorrow." Oh, yeah, some constituents have been more equal than others.

Because this is America and you don’t need to present a reason to the police to run...yet.

I am suspicious of the charges...not that there are not bad cops, certainly there is just like bad plumbers etc.

I wont be surprised if there is not more surprises. If for some reason something bad went down, well it took them a lot of tries, speaking of innocent Wilson and Zimmerman

I guess these guys might pay for all the bad things ever done to blacks since 1970

Why run for no reason? As it played out, seems like he had good reason. The knife the cops swore to was not a switch blade, but a legal knife. The cops lied about about probable cause. Watch the TV show COPS and you will see that cops hassle people they see on the streets that have been arrested before. Besides, why he ran is a moot point. He was arrested wrongly and mistreated while in custody.

One article states that Gray ran because the police officers “made eye contact with him.” That might give some insight into what law enforcement’s new rules will be when dealing with blacks.
