Megyn prods Jeb: Geller is no hero? Why not tell terrorists we’ll draw whatever we want?

In the wide-ranging “The Kelly File” interview, Kelly asked the potential contender for the Republican presidential nomination where he stood in the debate between provoking terror and liberty.

“I think it’s about both,” Bush said. “I think the First Amendment, and freedom — freedom of expression — trumps everything else.”

However, Bush told Kelly, it’s not “necessarily appropriate” to hold an event knowing it could provoke a violent reaction from radical Muslims.

*snip*

Kelly pressed Bush, asking “Why is it inappropriate? Why not stand up to the terrorists and say we’re going to draw what we want to draw?”

“I don’t have a problem with that,” Bush answered, explaining that the bigger problem is that America has homegrown terrorists, who “can receive a tweet, or receive an email, and provoke them to drive a thousand miles” to go kill people.

Bush called for vigilance, and said America can’t tolerate “terrorists in the making” in our country.

“The guy who’s the hero in this isn’t Mrs. Geller,” he said. “It’s the police officer, who shot these two guys dead.”

OK, we’ll comply with the Sharia proscription on drawing Muhamed...

what?

you want the hand and foot amputation enforced too?

and the burkhas?

and what else? No Christian churches built or repaired?

and on and on...

Someone needs to SERIOUSLY consider the full extent of the 1st Amendemnt and lecture the appeasement media that 1stA includes FREEDOM OF THE PRESS which Pam Geller’s event was quite properly ainmed at, even more that “speech” or “religion”.

Drawing a cartoon is Printed satire and the media ought to be aware that they are in the sights of Sharia and will be dealt with appropriately when the time comes. Until then, taqiyya.

Jeb is an Islamic appeaser who would walk on eggshells to not “offend” Muslims.

OUT OF HIS OWN MOUTH:

The REAL threat to America is American homegrown terrorists (as defined by DHS and SPLC in 2010, which includes anyone who posts on Free Republic)...

>>The more I hear this idiot talk the less I like him!<<

After the first speech heard from him I knew I despised him.

I pray to GOD he is not the GOP POTUS nominee.

Well what he said kind of makes sense... jihadis are being recruited heavily here today.

I doubt any Freeper ever was moved by anything here, no matter HOW wacky, to drive a thousand miles and shoot one of those hated government lackies. It’s been remarkably scandal free. You can bet it would be trumpeted ALL over the airwaves if it wasn’t scandal free.

Islam has always been a “religion” of conquest and slavery spread by the sword.
In a hundred years it had spread from Arabia all the way to Tours, France where they were stopped by Charles Martel. If they had not been stopped, there might be no Christianity, western civilization or United States of America.

Islam means submission.
They intend for us all to submit.
They intend to kill any who do not.

Those who believe we can appease Islam are fools.

In a sane world, Pamela Geller would not be considered a hero, because in a sane world, the act of hosting a drawing contest would not be a heroic act.

Sadly, we do not live in a sane world.

Just what is the deal?

The American Muslims must have a big lobbyist that is handing out fist full of money to our elected whores in Washington.

Not one will speak bad of the Religion of Peace. The only thing our GOP-e has done since they have the majority is vote to make incandescent light bulbs available. Thanks folks, keep up all your hard work and keep those really terse emails flowing.

Open borders, Jeb. As long as you and your kind support wide-open borders, Americans will be under threat. One person drawing a cartoon isn't the problem.

I don't think this sentence is an accurate paraphrase of what Bush said:

'However, Bush told Kelly, it’s not “necessarily appropriate” to hold an event knowing it could provoke a violent reaction from radical Muslims.'

He didn't say that he thought the event was inappropriate because of terrorists reactions, though he could have meant that.

He could instead think that the drawing contest was inappropriate because it offends something that people hold sacred.

My personal opinion is that terrorist reactions don't turn something appropriate into something inappropriate but neither do they turn something iinappropriate into something appropriate.

Someone should ask Bush a follow up question on this but in the meantime I don't think it's correct to assume he meant that the contest would have been appropriate in the absence of violence.

So by Jeb’s logic Obama can send out a goon to kill someone or say, the irs to intimidate, a critic. All Obama has to say is “ you knew I would do it so you better watch ehat you say.”
