Would you ever consider doing such a thing with hopes of having a civil discussion?
*********************************
The story doesn't make sense to me, but perhaps I'm overly suspicious. The last thing that I would have done was to pull over into a parking lot after someone allegedly terrorized me.
Even if it was not a civil discussion this guy committed assault and battery. I don’t care if she flipped him the bird and called him a redheaded woodpecker. That is not grounds for attacking someone. Frankly in the neck of the woods we live in and everyone ccw he would have been lucky not to be a dead off duty police officer. Mr. GG2 would have plugged the guy in a second if he raised a gun.
They don’t look elderly to me, and there is only one side of the story being reported.
Of course, for some people around here, an accusation against a cop is the gospel truth.
It is not nut-job central command. In times like these, cities and municipalities are hurting for cash. There are 90 million plus people under or not employed at all. These days, if you catch a cops attention you better be damned certain that at the very least you are going to get “charge stacked” so the DA can punish you with fines to make up for the taxes not being collected. And with the younger breed hitting the streets; I’ve witnessed them; their attitude is quite literally “us vs. them” and WE citizens are the “them”. It really isn’t a stretch of the imagination that “off-duty” no longer see themselves that way; the are numero uno in their own eyes and the laws do not apply to them. I have no doubt there are hundreds of thousands of good cops out there; the problem is they don’t speak up against the scum that is infecting their ranks which makes them just as guilty.
Well that sure is an informed opinion..LOL!!!
Well, flushed at least one out?<<
Actually, if he was in the wrong, I don’t mind if he goes to jail for a long time.
You just don’t believe we have a constitution, and it really does not get past your prejudices.
But then again, your opinion again is uninformed. Two times in the same thread.
WOW

Tell me this...
If this was two ordinary citizens in a road rage incident, then do you really think the police would not arrest anyone for assault and battery at the scene???
YOU KNOW, someone would have been arrested in a road rage incident. Certainly if there was assault and battery. This looks very bad.
You are correct....There is no report yet on how badly the old dude's face damaged the cop's gun..............
If the facts are as she says, I hope the cop goes to jail.
Cops have been killed in ambushes for decades.
Yeh but here’s the thing. As far as I can tell we don’t know what the woman and man did. Or what the cop did until the investigation is over. I would say most people of a certain age don’t go looking for physical confrontation. Just going by law of averages. Apparently there were bystanders who saw what happened and broke it up so the facts should come out.
“I doubt it, the cop was off duty.”
They’re never off duty. If they can arrest you off-duty, and they can, they’re on-duty.
I recognize there are bad officers out there, but extrapolating what the mindset of all officers are based on the bad ones, pushes past limits I’m not prepared to buy into.
I wouldn’t be surprised if literally thousands of women and children are rescued each day in this nation by officers responding to a disturbance in the home call.
These calls can as easily as not turn into s situation where the woman sides with the person threatening to harm her just moment before the officers showed up.
So I’m not buying into the premise that the vast majority of officers are evil or willing accomplices to evil.
Do you honestly know everything that takes place in the department/or work location you work in? I’ll bet you know of times when you thought a certain dynamic went one way, when it actually was quite different. And that’s inside a physical location.
When you add in the outside the physical location you share at any given moment, it makes it even harder to know the facts.
You may have knowledge of what supposed witnesses say, but I’ve seen how clicks work within office settings, and you can’t really be sure of the dynamics for certain if you didn’t see it all. Even then sometimes your perspective can be the difference between an accurate or an inaccurate perception.
Before ripping me a new one, please answer two simple questions:
What do you think her gesture was when she waved them into a parking lot?
Would you ever consider gesturing a car with unknown occupants into a parking lot to have a civil discussion?<<
I was not there, so it would strictly be speculation. As this is looking to be viral, my sense is it has already been managed.
No, because I assume violence would follow, unless I was really sure of the context. But I guess I already have at work, but that is under specific rules and regs. And there are a LOT of people with poor driving skills that should not be on the road. Oddly enough, many of them have really crappy interpersonal skills too.
Don’t get why I would want to tear you a new one. There are cop hating fools on this board, but I would assume that is because they have run into AH cops. One thing that is really funny, when I went to an academy, about a third of my class had run into AH cops too. They did not particularly appreciate it either. Kind of a funny perspective, but I don’t think any went physical with them. It would have made becoming one difficult.

People don’t realize the power that an elected sheriff has, which includes the power to investigate. My sheriff has thrown a half-dozen rat bureaucrats in state prison for embezzlement.
A sheriff also has the power to refuse to aid federal law enforcement. That means that the feds are on their own when they enter a county - no assistance from the sheriff - and they had best obey county laws or face arrest or get run out of the county.
Are police departments issuing steroids to personnel these days?
Depends on the department as far as PEDs go, but all other drugs they do hair samples which is more in depth than a urinalysis.
I was driving my somewhat beat-up work truck through Brecksville. A cop was running the light at 82 and 21 by hand. I guess he didn’t like my truck, as he gave me a one second yellow, then red. I had to slam on my brakes. All my tools, pluming pipes etc., slid hard to the front. I gave him the evil eye. When the light changed, I crossed 21, and parked to reset all the stuff in my truck. He came over and started yelling at me. I told him to follow me to the police station. Ha! The police chief was an old neighbor and a friend of mine! It was funny!
Don’t like a broken nose?
Next time we’ll make it your back, serf.
