The current generation of tech is much, much better. Europe has fully automated pizza vending machines that make the food from scratch.

We’re swimming in guilty liberals out here so this is no big surprise.

It’s not designed to close the income gap. It’s designed to put more money in Union pockets.

I used to think Appomattox was a good thing but I never saw this coming.

Liberals are not reality based people. If they grasped math and economics, they wouldn't be Liberals.

And to re-gentrify the cities liberals have destroyed with sanctuary designations.

This is really a fairly positive development on balance.

First, fast food restaurants will automate. Machines don’t earn a wage.

Second, family restaurants and those that cater to the middle class will close. What will take their place are unlicensed, untaxed eateries on the low end. Such as food trucks. On the higher end, dinner clubs where you eat in a home and have a really nice fixed menu dinner will become more widespread. Also unlicensed, unregulated, and untaxed.

The same sort of thing will happen in other industries, with the key difference being that any remaining businesses that can move, will move.

So the leftists strangle their own taxation stream, expand undocumented businesses, and cause more businesses to move to places where they’re decently treated. Some businesses will close which is of course sad, but many will reopen in some other form or fashion.

“The left knows fully well what they are doing....creating more dependents on government.”

I’m not so sure. I think that people who actually want to work will work. Those who don’t, won’t. The big effect I see is an increase in off the books businesses and employment.

Is that not what Uber has done? Provide a service cheaper with a tech/convenience advantage.

RE:”LA Restaurateurs Think the $15 Minimum Wage Hike Spells Doom for the Industry”

I bet many of the single business Restaurants there owned by immigrants from Asian and Latin America pay their employees in cash and off the books with no payroll taxes.

I recall going to China-town in NYC many times and not being charged NYC sales taxes in those Chinese Restaurants.
And it was cheap too compared to other Restaurants.

Excellent example. Why not dinners to go on craigslist or some similar app? Sooner or later tech or people’s ingenuity come to the rescue. Or they simply decide not to obey.

This will not work out at as the marxists in LA City hall planned.

In a State where 70 thousand dollar houses any where else in the Country will cost you half a million bucks, would seem 15 dollars an hour is chicken feed...

The minimum wage for restruant workers in Texas is $2.13

While that's probably true for the servers who also collect tips, it can't be true for the kitchen staff...

Agreed. If these restauranteurs are going to talk like a bunch of pantywaists then good riddance to the lot of them.

Giving in to the minimum wage idea at all is a huge mistake. Give the bastards and inch they take a mile.

and the worst part?

These liberal morons will now move to a red state and bring their own pathetic and destructive mindset which ruined their own state in the first place.

It’s happening in TX. The CA plates have slowed a bit...but, up until a few months ago, they were everywhere....likely trying to bring their libness with them :(

Don’t Mess with Texas!

You should have a law that no liberals should move there. CO wasn’t blue until 5 years ago. Libs are parasites.

sad that these businessoweners feel the need to support a policy they know is wrong because they don’t want to face the wrath of leftists.

These businessowners should just jack up the prices and have on the receipt its for the minimum wage increase. Make reality slap these minimum wage advocates in the face
