In discussing the scandal engulfing former House speaker Dennis Hastert, who is due in court this week, one thing must be made absolutely clear. What he is alleged to have done to young boys has absolutely nothing to do with being gay or gay rights.

Almost immediately after the news broke of Hastert’s indictment, folks looked to Congress for signs of hypocrisy. Former representative Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who is gay, made an assertion during an appearance on Huffington Post Live last Monday that was flat-out inappropriate.

“Dennis Hastert twice as speaker tried to get the house to pass a constitutional amendment that would have banned same-sex marriage [and], in fact, retroactively would have canceled marriages that happened in Massachusetts,” he said. “So when someone who himself has engaged in same-sex activity then uses his position of great power to try to penalize other people who are doing that, that’s the kind of hypocrisy that should be penalized.”

Dennis Hastert is being charged with withdrawing his own money from the bank by The Obama administration in order to generate a scandal against the Republicans. Hastert was paying off a blackmailer who isn't being charged by the Department of Just Us with anything. This is being orchestrated by the Obama administration and being pushed by the media to get the Hillary scandals off the front page or at the very least they can say “Well Hillary may have some issues but when compared to the Republican scandals voters will be able to see who truly carries more integrity vs hypocrisy at the end of the day.”
We shouldn't fall for this scam, there should demands the the blackmailer face charges since black mail is a crime. As for Hastert if he was buggering little boys than hang him but don't charge him for structuring his own money. This is going to next be used against Conservative organizations to put them out of business and get away with charging them and imprisoning their officers for political crimes through the back door.

They really do have mental problems. I sometimes wonder if the explosion of homosexuals which occurred in the later part of the 1960s was the consequence of shutting down all the mental health facilities back then.

I agree. But the history doesn’t change because we want it to. In most of the famous “gay-friendly” cultures: Ancient Greece, Japan, Rome sexual relationships between adult males were considered at best unusual and at worst illegal.
