Ted Cruz Channels Paul Ryan: 'A Lot of Misinformation' on Obamatrade That 'You Can Get on the [net]'
Breitbart ^ | 6/11/15 | Matthew Boyle

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96%, a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, defended his decision to vote for Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) that would fast-track the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) and Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA)—among other deals—during a Thursday interview with the Hugh Hewitt radio program.

Hewitt started his line of questioning with coming out of a commercial. “Let’s take that opportunity, then, to go and talk about free trade—TPA, TPP, Export-Import Bank. Sen. Cruz, for clarity’s sake, can you quickly give us an overview on where you are on those three issues, as there’s quite a lot of confusion among conservative voters as to where different people are and why on each of those three issues.”

“Sure,” Cruz responded. “There is a lot of confusion and, unfortunately, a lot of misinformation you can get on the Internet that people are confused, so let’s explain what each of those three are.”

Cruz, by saying that, was essentially making the exact same claim—blaming the Internet for what he argues is “misinformation”—as House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)60%. Ryan made the claim on Fox News earlier on Thursday in response to Breitbart News reporting highlighted by the massively influential Drudge Report. Ryan, with whom Cruz pushed Obamatrade in a Wall Street Journal op-ed in late April—one that’s been used by Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)40% to try to rally support for Obamatrade—has been essentially discredited by various false statements he’s made throughout this process.

That Cruz would use the same talking points as him is interesting and probably disappointing to many conservatives. That Boehner is using Cruz to push Obamatrade is probably even more disappointing to most conservatives... ...

Another juicy nugget from the article:

“Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% is the only 2016 GOP presidential candidate who not only read TPP text before taking a concertedly clear public position on the matter, but also the only 2016 GOP presidential candidate in Congress who voted against the TPA.”

Thank you Senators Sessions and Paul.

Moving Cruz 5 places down on my list. Oh I will still vote for him if he wins nomination, but he gets no support during primaries. His rich benefactors are pulling his strings.

I am AGAINST the TransPacific Giveaway of our national sovereignty. Want proof? The United States has lost its case and can NO LONGER mark it’s beef American born, raised, and slaughtered. Nor can it mark Canadian or Mexican beef with its origin. WHERE IS OUR SOVEREIGNTY? The World Trade Organization says we CANNOT DISCRIMINATE against our neighbors! What do you think we are going to get from China, Japan, Korea, etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.
ANYONE who is for TRANSPACIFIC and giving OBAMA MORE POWER will NOT get my vote!

Did Mitt Romney get your vote after destroying marriage, funding abortion and creating what became Obamacare or not?

Lots of dust in the air now. If we can’t convince you, we’ll convince you that you’ve been fed misinformation—that durn Internet!—and are confused between the two bills, or something.

It may not pass in spite of them. It is not great to win that way, but better to win than to not win. We have a lot of time before we have to vote. From now until then I will bet they all make multiple mistakes. It will give us a chance to evaluate them. Hopefully the best candidate will be left standing. Maybe that will be Cruz and maybe not.

I don’t know about that. I do know that if Obama wants something it is always bad for the country. Obama wants this very badly so I am going with my gut and guessing that it is very bad for the country. If it truly is not the “monster it is being made out to be”, why the secrecy? It is being done secretly for a reason.

It’s a shame Cruz is going to vote for this while Sessions and Paul are going to do the right thing. Cruz should be there with them. WTF.

Still waiting for a reply. Should I assume you did in fact vote for Mitt Romney and are not embarked on a memory selective display of disgusting hypocrisy?

I have followed Ted Cruz closely since before he was elected. Recently made a small donation but no more. This matter is too serious! Is there anyone left who still believes in AMERICA and is NOT a New World Order supporter? Maybe Bobby Jindal...........
