Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush says his views toward single mothers "have evolved" since he suggested 20 years ago that they were becoming too accepted by society.
In a 1996 book, Bush and co-author Brian Yablonski expressed concern about changing cultural mores and wrote, regarding unwed motherhood, that there was "no longer a stigma attached to this behavior." This was in a chapter titled "The Restoration of Shame."

Bastardity is the cause of MOST of our social problems,
and ALMOST ALL social problems of the inner city.
You don’t “evolve” to embrace a destructive tendency of a society - you fight it.
Unwed motherhood, while not a desirable state of affairs, is preferable to abortion. Jesus said “Go, and sin no more”.
Notice, Republicans only ever “evolve” in one direction? They never get more conservative...
Devolution or degenerate? I would say definitely a hypocrit. He is subtly egging on conservatives for a speech he made.
Actually, I amend that. The only time they might get more conservative is when they decide to run for President.
In truth if he feels this way it’s a worse view than his immigration views
Didn’t think that was possible
JEB:
What part of WE DON’T WANT YOU don’t you understand???????
And crime
And cultural decline
Female empowerment came at a high price
Sorry Sarah and Megyn
Yes, and there is no surer path to the destruction of all that we hold dear.
Traditional Western culture was both infinitely preferable to anything we have now; and also--if properly defended in frames of reference that normal people can relate to--if they are ever exposed to them by competent candidates--easily defended. It says a very great deal about the "whipped cur" Republicans, who repeatedly betray us; that they appear so utterly clueless.
Who gives a flying flip what this guy thinks. He can evolve himself to Uranus for all I care.
well played..not a fan but a good way to corner the left wing media who applauded the obama and clinton “evolution” on gay marriage...
Apparently, Spiro T. Agnew is the only Republican who evolved to the right, and he was soon brought down.
At least now we know what question George Stephanopoulos will be asking all of our candidates.
Jebbie was born in TX, and he is likely to win the TX primary in March 2016. People there like names they can recognize.
Y’know, I’ve kind of “evolved” on the matter myself.
Since a state marriage certificate has been reduced to a farce, there’s no point in it anymore.
Marriage can be as it was in Bible times. The father, or eldest, closest living relative, gives the damsel to the groom, they proclaim their vows to each other before God and the witnesses, and the father declares them married. Their names get written into the family Bible.
As for shacking up, it’s still a gross sin and a disgusting way to live.
Evolved? WTH does that mean.
The GOP is some bizarro form of the Democrats.
Don’t think he’s weak-willed. He stands firm on what he believes in areas like immigration - to his own detriment.
He’s just a liberal at heart - like his dad. A liberal Republican.
Republicans like him are why I am not one.
Could he be hoping that hillary doesn't have any viable competition in the dem primaries? The rules for signing up for a political party's primary are almost nonexistent. Dems could "vote for the worst" in the Republican Party and that would be Jeb.
It's pretty clear Jeb's support never rises above 20% and it's even lower when voters get to know him, and they're not just polling the party elite. So if he can grab that nomination by despicable means, all he'd have to do is bring out all the ugly stuff the Bush Oligarchy must have on hillary and win.
Either that or the Clintons and the Bushes are scheming for the nominations together, and don't much care which one wins the election.
Am I making any sense?
We almost never disagree. But lack of self-control and surrendering a highly respected social position in the West, since the days of Chivalry, is not empowerment.
What is more, is that it only appears as a "gain" of any sort, if the would be defenders of the traditional family structure, simply ignore all the very pragmatic, as well as romantic, spiritual & moral, benefits to both sexes, of that traditional family structure.
If Jeb does not feel up to making that defense, let him accept his inadequacy--not pretend that he is somehow aware of some compelling argument for social chaos.
Translation = those who believe people should be married before having children are Neanderthals who haven't "evolved" yet.
