(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Talk radio host Hugh Hewitt declared that right now, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the frontrunner to be the Republican nominee for president and would decimate Hillary Clinton in a debate on Wednesday’s “Huff Post Live.”

Hewitt began by stating that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has “the lowest ceiling, but the highest floor” of the GOP candidates, before talking about his advice to Hillary Clinton regarding the different Republican candidates. He said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is Clinton’s “worst nightmare,” and that Hillary should avoid debating Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) if he’s the nominee because “he’ll kill you. He’ll take your pipe, joint, and arm.”(continued)

Uh-oh. If Hugh says he’s the frontrunner, Cruz is toast.

I would prefer obliterate to decimate.

Eviscerate would be the more correct term. Regardless, Hillary knows this and will engineer some way to keep that from happening. EVERYTHING she does is choreographed and staged and she’d never enter into a battle of words of which she is totally incapable of winning.

Hillary debates? Doesn’t she have to answer Big Media questions first?

How true, Hugh is well below the Mendoza line when it comes to predictions.

The press is waiting for any male opponent to Hillary. They can’t wait to resuscitate the Rick Lazio moment. They want to depict a mean republican opponent while trying to sell Hillary! as still tough enough to deal with evil enemies. The ploy will work on her target uninformed demographic.

Hillary has no credibility; whatever was left of her credibility was lost during last 7 yrs and she is solely responsible for it.

If American voters elect her or even get her close to being elected as the next POTUS, there is something Very wrong with the average American voter.

Didn't slick Willie and the Obungler being elected twice, tell you that there is something dreadfully wrong with the American voter?

Can’t disagree!
But Obama got in there first time because he was a fresh face and because of voter sentiment towards his predecessor (sorry if you were are a Bush supporter). And, second time because no ‘viable’ candidate was present or perceived on the other side of the political spectrum.
This time, there is a very ‘viable’ alternative, and Hillary’s ‘use by date’ has pretty much expired.

See #11.
I hear what you say, and the average American voter is not that ‘tuned in’. But, you gotta take into account the ‘zeitgeit’ (social, economic and political) around each election, and the availability and viability of alternative candidates, at every election.

...Would ‘Kill’ Hillary In Debates

He certainly would...if we had debates. What we have are TV shows where a moderator asks a question, one candidate spouts their talking points, the second candidate spouts theirs, and they move on to the next question. We do not have true debates where the candidates ask each other questions and debate each others responses. If we did I don't know anyone from either party who could stand up to Ted Cruz.

Clinton is plenty smart and articulate. Cruz might be more so, but his desperate need not to be perceived as mean or sexist will restrain him. I think they go into debates just about even odds.

the average American voter is not that "tuned in"

With out-of-control black rabble rousers, an economy that isn't producing anywhere near enough jobs that provide self-sufficiency, US citizens possibly being force-fed that trade deal, and endless wars, average folk have become very aware. Most people I know have no confidence that our politicians are doing anything that will save the US.

I think it's the opposite. The average American voter is tuned in but has a short attention span. They'll be so sick of the political circus freak show that by the time the election rolls around, most won't be tuned in and will stay home.

Those points you mentioned are not U.S.-specific; but apply to many other Western countries. Years of mismanagement, on my fronts, by gov’ts.

Also, realistically & broadly, politicians are not viewed favorably in most Western countries; they’re notorious for promising much more than they can or will deliver. So, it’s a matter of voters choosing the best they can each time from what is available.

Personally, as a priority, immigration needs to be significantly curtailed - that’s a starter.

Maybe you’re right..
Then again, I think voters can be enticed or encouraged to make the best out of a bad situation, and at least not support a candidate who has an atrocious trackrecord, like Hillary.

“Hewitt declared that right now, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the frontrunner to be the Republican nominee”.......

What, another new “poll”? Where did Hewitt get that idea, it certainly doesn’t surface in the news?

My suggestion is that Hewitt ask the rinos themselves. My bet is they WILL NOT select Cruz since they are afraid he will upset their cushy world. Indeed Cruz might make good things happen for this ill nation but there will be a lot of convincing to do within the rino leadership before he gets the green light.

Yes, there is going to be a lot of convincing. It’s only June 2015 now. Months to go...
