“None of us are perfect,” she continued, before explaining that the baby had been planned with her former fiance before the relationship ended:
I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume.
This pregnancy was actually planned.
Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on.
But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!

Palin ends her post reasserting her pro-life beliefs:
I am pregnant. This is not the ideal situation, but life is important even if it’s not in the most absolute ideal circumstance. This is more confirmation on what I’ve always stood for. I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now.
Deal with it.

Well Mrs. Palin will have 3 grandchildren, none of whom have been conceived to married parents. I have repeatedly read on Free Republic what a great mother she is, but I have yet to see any evidence of that.
That makes two of us.
You are absolutely right. And I wonder where they all went? They’ve suddenly gone very quiet.
Understood. There is a tendency to like one thing about a Person, say her political views, and to turn idealize her/ him in other respects. Parenting has to be harder than advocating political positions. I lack the skills to advise her. It must be very difficult to be the mom in such a situation
Two baby daddies. What a player!
I don’t know if it is safe to assume she is even telling the truth. Why would she plan to get pregnant before marriage? It makes no sense. Especially after getting paid a ton of money for being a spokesperson for abstaining.
She made a whole bunch of money off her mistake. How is that different then collecting welfare? I think it is worse because she exploited her situation and got rich off of it.
Seriously, what does any of this have to do with Sarah Palin being taken seriously or not?
OK, how many?
What’s a good Mother to you?
Motherhood is a tough thing. You can do all the right things, and your kids still can turn our rotten. But I’ve repeatedly heard on Free Republic what a GREAT mother Sarah Palin is. Fair enough. Based on what evidence? Between the illegitimate kids and the drunken brawls, bright spots are hard to find.
So you can be a great Mom but your kids still get into trouble?I have 6 children.People say I’m a great Mom.My kids got into trouble. They grew up and then stayed out of trouble.

Same with my five-—and am I glad it’s over. :-)

Some of them take a little while:)We have one granddaughter out of wedlock.I only saw her once.Big blue eyes and bright red hair with curls. Her Mother brought her to me,said she would never marry my son.She thanked me for telling her off when I found out she aborted my granddaughter with a late term abortion.I never even knew she was pregnant until she contacted my son from the abortion chamber. She said she would never abourt again. She admitted to aborting 2 more girls that were my granddaughters. And so it goes.We have 2 Greatgrands out of wedlock girls who we see all the time. All together we have 25 greats and grands that were born.
Sorry meant to say 1 granddaughter out of wedlock.2 Greatgrands out of wedlock.
“I only saw her once. Big blue eyes and bright red hair with curls.”
Wow, that’s really sad... I have 3 grandchildren that fortunately live only 2 hours away so I get to see them at least once a month. As a family they dream of moving to Florida and are taking steps to execute their plan. I am certain I will cry for a week if/when they leave. They want me to move as well but I can’t see myself doing that... time will tell I guess. Anyway, your note made me sad and I hope one day you get to see her again!

Yikes-—your Christmas list must be long.
I only have 6 grandkids-—high school and college age.
.
GizzyGirl,Don’t be sad she lived.Children grow up and they all look up their family.I would say she’s about 14 now.I hope your grandkids don’t move.We have a 15 minute rule.Move within 15 minutes from Mom and Dad or I will not visit.I have grandkids and greats upstate but they come down to see me.The rest all live close.((((Hugs))))
We eliminate you once you turn 18 for Christmas. You have to join the PollyAnna or nothing. For Christmas we have 50 people-no friends or dates-only family.Getting ready to rent a place in a few years.Family keeps growing.Pro-Lifers will take over the world :)Right now we have 5 teenagers in the family.Just shaking my head.Teenager rules are you can call anyone in the family if your in trouble and they will never tell Mom and Dad.But you will sure get an ear beating from Aunt or Uncle. They are already calling. We have a 16 year old 2-14 year olds and 2-13 year olds.
I have nothing against her or her family personally, but the whole clan seemed to view their time in the spotlight as a reality show, and her supporters acted like teenagers protecting their favorite pop culture figures.
Not my cup of tea.
